Sunrise

"Wonie. I'm sorry but I cannot afford your college funds anymore." Mom said.

Of course, I understand. I cannot force my mom to pay for my college funds we have other important things to waste our money on.

I hugged my mom. "Don't worry eoma. I will look for a part-time job and a scholarship as well." I said and I gave her a smile after.

"I'm sorry wonie you deserve the world and I am sincerely sorry for giving you a hard time."

"Aish! Eoma don't be. I'm totally okay!" I said happily while giving her a thumbs up. I decided to go upstairs and rest a bit.

Ever since my father died, my mom and I is having a hard time with so much stuff like my studies and paying for our bills. I am the only child but my mom is still struggling to raise me, she is working two jobs right now. She did not tell me but I saw her working at the convenience store and she is also a janitress at a company downtown.

My phone rang and I saw sunoo's name in it, I answered it immediately.

"Hell-"

"Jungwonah! Prepare yourself!" Wow. He did not even let me finish my greeting.

"Oh why?" I asked. Is this about his crush?

"You and I got in! Aaahhhhh!" He screamed and I can feel him jumping from the sound of his voice.

"Wait? Did I hear you right? We got in?"

"Yes! We got the scholarship! I'm so happy for the two of us!"

Oh my god! I cannot believe this! I can finally go to college and full fill my dreams. Sunoo and I applied as full scholars at Koviere University, I did not really expect that we will get in because Koviere University is a very prestigious one and they have high standards.

I did not talk much with Sunoo, I told him that I'll see him soon to prepare our requirements to be officially enrolled.

I sat down on my bed thinking of other stuff. How about my allowance? I asked myself. Maybe I'll look for a part-time job so I can also support myself. I am a full scholar but that doesn't include my allowance and other necessities. I also need to look for an apartment because our house is quite far from the university.

"What? Are you sure about that?" Sunoo said while eating his mint-choco ice cream.

We're currently at an ice cream parlor and it has been 3 days since he told me that we passed the scholarship.

"I have to, you know. I need money for my allowance and apartment rent."I said. Good for sunoo because his grandma's house is near the university. He even offered me to stay with him but I don't want to be a bother.

"So where are you gonna work by the way?" He asked while finishing his last spoon of ice cream.

"I already have a job. The coffee shop near the university. I have to work 5pm to 10pm during monday to wednesday while whole day during friday to saturday." I know that this will be very hard but I really have no other choice.

"So your only free days are Thursday and Sunday?" I nodded as a response to his question.

"Are you sure about this?" Sunoo asked holding both of my hands. I know he is worried that I might have a hard time juggling my studies with work. I just gave him a nod and smile to give him assurance.
