Prologue

The Uchiha massacre is an event that brings nothing but horror to the people who attempt to know the truth, knowing only the fragment of the made-up illusion Uchiha Itachi, the traitor of the leaf created.

The night was full of savagery, even the younger brother of Itachi wasn't spared from the terror of the night, nor his lover who he thought died by his hands under the genjutsu of their happy future.

But Obito didn't let him kill her, he made sure the katana missed her vital organs by his mangekyō sharingan ability and because of that, the injury wasn't fatal, knowing how important she can be in the future to his plans, since he knew Itachi will never trust him.

Knowing the kind of person Itachi is and how dangerous he could be from the shadows alone, made him leave a trump card behind, which he could, later on, use as leverage if things got to the point of no return.

However, Itachi never knew of the secret plan or that, his lover is still alive while he stayed in the Akatsuki, protecting Konoha from afar because that is who he is.

Always protecting the village, without a care for the title of the hero.

The ANBU Black Ops along with the third Hokage were horrified by the discovery, while Hiruzen felt terrible about the burden placed on the thirteen-year-old child.

"Rescue everyone who is still alive". Hiruzen ordered, keeping up the act of nonchalance.

He stood there watching the ANBU Black Ops search the whole area filled with bodies, the dark sky reflecting the tragic bloodshed.

"Hokage-sama! We found a survivor!". An ANBU suddenly appeared by the Hokage's side and Hiruzen wasn't a bit surprised, he had an idea that only one Uchiha would be alive- Uchiha Sasuke but the next words seem to leave him stunned.

"Uchiha Izumi has been discovered with an injury on her abdominal area, it's not that fatal but a lot of blood has been already lost, it's uncertain if she'll live or not but we have sent her over to the hospital". The ANBU informed as Hiruzen's eyes widen in astonishment, thinking that by sheer luck she was still alive.

"Keep this a secret!". Hiruzen ordered, because she might or might not survive so giving false hope will only bring misery.

"Yes". The ANBU bowed before disappearing in the night, as the leaves rustle around them.

"We found a survivor, Uchiha Sasuke". Another ANBU appeared against Hiruzen informing him about the thing he already suspected.

"Take him to the medical unit!". Hiruzen ordered, eyeing the seven-year-old child, bleeding from his forehead.

"Everyone else is dead!". Hatake Kakashi declared, still not being able to grasp the situation which is in front of him.

Tenzo looked over Kakashi's shoulder at the corpse, horrified, "Who could have done such a thing?". He asked his senior ANBU.

"Uchiha Itachi despised his clan". Danzo interrupted, walking on the scene with a calm look that pissed off the third Hokage more.

"He caused this atrocity". Kakashi was shocked that his subordinate could do such a thing, to his clan and even his younger brother.

Maybe he never understood him after all.

"But, why would he?... ". The question swirled around like the wind in the atmosphere, with no certain answer to it.
