(Dipper pov)

I wake up hearing knocking on the door. I sit up rubbing my eyes realizing that I fell asleep in my clothes from yesterday. I really have to stop doing that.

Going downstairs I open the door only to see Gideon. Before I can say anything he lets himself into my house. I sigh as I close the door. "What do you want, Gideon?"

"Where's your old man?"

"He's not here at the moment and he doesn't like people in his house when he isn't here. So whatever you want, I suggest that you make it quick."

"Easy. Like I said, we are both good looking people. Me more then you of course." He sits himself at my table, putting his feet up getting mud all over the table. "I want you to marry me. Just imagine it. You can give up on your silly book reading and be my partner instead. Spend your time cleaning up after me, our children and dogs. 6 to be exact. Spend all your days cooking and adoring over me like you should."

"6 dogs? That's a lot. And I have told you before that I am allergic to dogs."

"Not 6 dogs, silly. 6 children." Sighing I get up going to the door. He gets up going over to me pinning me against the door. "Well? What do you say?"

I open the door stepping to the side as he falls out of it and into a big puddle of mud. "For the 100th and final time. No. I do not want to marry you and never will. Now leave me the hell alone." I shut the door, making sure to lock it.

I watch out the window waiting for him to leave before I unlock the door again and step outside, arms crossed over my chest. "Can you imagine? Me, the wife of that boorish, brainless..." Grabbing a handful of nearby chicken feed I spread it out for the chickens clucking nearby as I step off the porch.

"Madame Gideon
Can't you just see it?
Madame Gideon
His little wife, ugh

No, sir! Not me!
I guarantee it
I want much more than this provincial life!" I run to an open field behind the house, it overlooking everything in the valley.

"I want adventure in the great wide somewhere
I want it more than I can tell
And for once it might be grand
To have someone understand
I want so much more than they've got planned..."

Hearing a horse I go back to the horse thinking dad was back already, but instead it's just his horse scared and agitated. "Daisy?" I go over to her slowly calming her down. "Easy, easy girl. It's okay." I gently pet her as she calms down. "Where is dad? Did something happen to him?" I look in the direction that Daisy came from.

She wouldn't have just come back without him, she's expertly trained, not unless something really bad happened.

I rush inside grabbing my jacket, hat, and messenger bag pulling them on before going back outside and climbing onto Daisy.

"Take me to dad." Flicking her reigns, we take off into the woods.

I ride Daisy for many hours, it eventually becoming night and I notice snow falling around me. "Snow....in July?"

Daisy rears up almost throwing me off as we come to a giant castle. "Easy, easy." I calm her down before hopping off of her. With great effort I push the iron gates open and lead Daisy inside, tying her reigns to a tree near the front door. "Stay here, I won't be long."

I push open the heavy wooden doors as I step into the castle, it being pitch black inside. "Hello? Dad?" Feeling something under my foot I look down and see it's a rose. I pick it up and the moonlight coming in from the open door makes me realize that it's a blue rose. "Blue rose.....he actually managed to find one for once." I put it in my messenger bag before hearing something on the stairs.

Looking up I see a figure holding a lantern but he drops it and runs off before I can clearly make out any details about him. "Hey, wait!" I run up the stairs picking up the lantern. I use it to light my way as I follow the sound of the stranger's footsteps as I climb higher into one of the towers.

Hearing coughing I see a cell and gasp in horror as I drop the lantern to the ground as I rush to the cell door. "Dad!"

He comes to the cell door, coughing into his hand and looking deathly pale. "Dipper, please you have to go."

"No! I'm not leaving without you!" I put my hand over his. "Your hands....th-they're like ice....who did this to you?"

"A demon....there's no other words for what that monstrosity is...."

"Dad, you're not making any sense. What are you talking about? Who did this to you?"

I turn around hearing a low, demonic growl, the light from the lantern instantly going out. "Wh-Who's there? Who are you?"

"You shouldn't be here! Get out!" I seach the shadows to try and find the source of the voice but it's just too dark to tell.

"I am not leaving without my father."

"Your father is a thief."

"Liar!"

"He stole a rose!"

I slowly take out the rose I had found from my messenger bag. "Is this what he stole?" The only answer I get is a growl. I toss it into the darkness and I manage to see a pitch black hand with claws snath it out of the air and pull it back into the shadows. "He only took it because I asked him to! Punish me instead!"

"He means forever, Dipper." I glance back at my dad. "Apparently that's the punishment for picking a simple flower around these parts." I look back into the darkness surrounding the room.

"An eternal sentence? All just for some stupid flower?"

"I recieved eternal damnation for one. I just locked him up. Now....do you still wish to take his place?"

"......step into the light...."

He steps into the moonlight shining in from a nearby window and I put a hand over my mouth to hide my gasp from horror. He has three pairs of arms making six in total, all black with claws for nails and his whole body is glitching every so often. His eyes meet mine as he growls again.

"Choose now!" I flinch back, whimpering softly.

"Dipper please! I already lost your mother and sister, I can't afford to lose you too!" My dad says before he goes into a coughing fit.

I look back at him one last time before facing the demon again. "I'll leave. But I want one minute with him." He doesn't respond, just glaring at me. "Are you that cold hearted that you can't allow a child to say goodbye to his father!"

With a single snap my dad's cell door opens. "When that door closes, it will not open again." Rushing into the cell, I hug him tightly, feeling his hands weakly clenching my jacket.

"I am so sorry dad. I should have gone with you."

"Dipper, listen to me. It's alright. Just go live your life and forget about me."

"Forget about you, but you are everything that I am."

"I love you, Dipper."

"I love you too, dad.....I promise that I will find a way to escape."

"What?"

Before he can react I shove my dad out of the cell just as it slams shut. My dad lands on the ground outside of the cell as the demon looks at me, tilting his head slightly. "You took his place...."

"He's my dad."

"You're a fool. And so is he."

He grabs the back of my father's jacket dragging him out of the room.

"Don't hurt him! Please!"

I go to the small window in the cell watching as he throws my dad out of the castle and the iron gates slam shut. I feel myself sink to the floor hugging my knees to my chest as the helpless sobs finally escape from me.
