Chapter one:
Rachel Elizabeth dare sat staring out the window of the big house, painting. She had always loved to paint and sometimes, she would paint something magical. She was the first oracle to paint and sometimes prophecies were painted into her art. Those were her best paintings, the ones full of magic. She had just captured the lake perfectly, the bright sun was setting upon it leaving the sky filled with colours. Light orange, a deep, deep purple, and hot pink, these are the colours that seem to light up the sky tonight. The water on the lake shimmered and gleamed in the magical light of dusk and that was what Rachel was so proud of capturing in her painting. The water on the canvas seemed to shimmer and shine in the light. Rachel had spent all of the previous night mixing many different shades of blue and contrasting them the see which ones made a shimmering effect so that tonight she would be able to paint quickly before the sun set faded. The water on the canvas rippled and was almost transparent it was her best work of art. Rachel left her room she stared into her bathroom mirror. She had managed to straighten her frizzy, bright red hair earlier in the morning and started to brush it. She slowly removed the bandanna that held her hair out of her face. She washed the paint off her hands and face and changed out of her art clothes into a clean white blouse and a new pair of skinny jeans. She swept her hair up into a clean, green bandana, and sighed to her self. "I just want this to be perfect." she whispered.

She walked into her room and grabbed the painting she had been working on for months, this painting was special, this painting was a way to make sure that everything was okay in Rachel's relationship with Percy and Annabeth. This painting was of Percy and Annabeth's under water kiss. Rachel had spent months capturing Percy and Annabeth's best moment and this painting was her way of making sure that Annabeth and her were friends and that there was no tension between them.

The painting captured Percy's jet black hair, messy from being tossed by the waves, his perfect tan from the beach and Annabeth's curly blond hair drifting around her face like Medusa's snakes, her arms wrapped around Percy. A school small, silver fish were swimming behind them toward the long kelp bellow. The way Rachel captured the water around them and the air bubble that surrounded both of their heads was incredible. The bubble looked so real and 3D that it looked like you could reach out and touch it. This was the perfect painting to make amends with Annabeth.

Rachel ran out of the big house and towards the lake where she knew Percy and Annabeth would be. The lush green grass waved in the breeze and the pine trees that surrounded the lake swayed back and forth as Percy jumped out of the shimmering aqua lake."Hey Annabeth!" Rachel called as she interrupted their kiss. "Uh hi Rachel " Annabeth replied "What are you doing here?" She asked. " Oh I have a present for you and Percy." Rachel said nervously as she handed Annabeth the painting and ran nervously away to her cave.

Rachel puffed as she pushed through the blue curtain at the front of her oracle cave. She sat in the centre of the dark cave on a decorated yoga mat she had designed herself. In the centre of the mat was a picture of the sun surrounded by a cloudless blue sky. Rachel was still rushed and nervous from giving Annabeth and Percy their painting she needed to relax. She lit the scented candles circling her and took a deep breath.

Annabeth and Percy watched as Rachel ran to her oracle cave and disappeared inside. "Well we should look at her gift shouldn't we?" asked Annabeth, as she lifted the canvas up so that they could see the painting Rachel had given them, they gasped. Percy stared. "Wow!" He said "It's incredible! I didn't know that Rachel could paint". Annabeth just stared at it in awe. The way Rachel had captured her grey eyes and the way  her hair drifted around her face like blond seaweed, her orange camp half blood tee shirt clung to her skin and Percy looked gorgeous, his hair was pulled back across his face by the tide and they way Rachel captured the water and the school of fish bellow them. This was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
