Hange planned to crash the party and kidnap Erwin.

Ever since her friend was promoted to commander, she did not get a chance to see him.

He had gone to the capital for his acceptance ceremony, and there was a party waiting for him at the palace.

And she was not invited.

But you can't keep me out!

She HAD to say her congrats.

"Please Hange-san! He'll be back in just a few days and you can give him the flowers then." Moblit tried to reason with his squad leader.

Hange was clutching a nicely wrapped bouquet of flowers and stubbornly marching to the stables.

"The palace is really far! You'll just ruin the pretty flowers."

"Don't underestimate the chemicals I used, Moblit." Hange pushed him out of the way.

"You can't possibly give Mr.Erwin contaminated flowers!" Moblit pleaded. He scanned Hange's white shirt, black suit, and black pants. "I think you're a bit too under-dressed for this event."

"But this is a formal suit. It's fine, I don't care what other people think anyways. I'm just there to see Erwin," Hange mounted her horse. "Keep an eye on those rosemary leaves, I'm extracting the oil to make an inhaler."

She then took off on her horse. All Moblit could do was shout after her, "Don't come back in the middle of the night! It's too dangerous! Find a motel in the city!"

It was dusk by the time she reached the palace.

Hange was not prepared for the interior's bullshit. She had informed the guards that she was a close friend of Erwin, but she still wasn't allowed inside.

"But you let Levi in!" she argued angrily. The MPs pretended she was invisible.

That's how she ended up sneaking in through the west gate where there was less security.

She tied her horse to a nearby tree and climbed over the fence, clutching her flowers like a precious baby. She reached the garden and ran towards the sound of the party. Hange peeked through the window to see a magnificent hall, one you definitely couldn't find outside the interior. The white décor was shining, as if not a speck of dust from Wall Maria had reached it. The dancefloor was large enough to fit a small town. All the nobles were dressed in colorful gowns which shimmered against the candlelight.

Hange spotted Erwin in his formal black suit standing in the spotlight surrounded by nobles who were all trying to speak to him.

She held her flowers tightly and climbed up the window. Luckily it wasn't locked so she managed to get in without making a ruckus. She hid behind a pillar and waved at Erwin, trying to catch his attention.

When Erwin finally looked over to where she was, she waved frantically beckoned him over. He gave her a confused look before turning back to converse with the nobles, as if he didn't see her.

Hange's heart fell. Maybe she really wasn't supposed to be here.

Doubt was taking over, so she retreated to the porch.

She found Levi sitting there with a cup of tea, gazing at the sky and looking extremely bored.

"Hey Levi! Fancy seeing you here." She rushed over to him. He looked surprised to see her.
