He wanted to kick Hange's ass.

She keeps going off on her own, disappearing for the whole day, without telling him where she went.

The same thing happened again this morning.

"Oi."

The commander was nowhere to be found in her office, and the bread he bought for her lunch was getting cold. These days she was extremely busy with the new expedition to go outside the wall that she barely had any time to eat. Everything had to be done by Spring, so they were in a crunch. Not to mention all the work now had to be done by nine members, with Hange taking the heaviest load.

He put down the bag of bread on her table. It's full of papers, all scattered around in a mess. Would she find what she's looking for if I rearranged them up a bit?

While sorting them out, Levi also read the contents of the papers.

These days he had been trying to catch up to her, because she wouldn't tell him anything.

She had become much less talkative after he had let Erwin die.

Hange respected his decision, but she was still disappointed.

Even if the grieve had passed, some things won't ever be the same again.

The gap between them was widening. Not because she was mad at him, or because she held a grudge. But she was deliberately trying to distance herself from him.

Levi looked at Hange's schedule. She had a meeting on how to eliminate the remaining titans outside the wall without risking any more soldiers. He's pissed now. If it's anything involving titans, why wasn't he included? He realized that until now, he had always been directly under Erwin's command, but now that Erwin's gone, he's a free agent. Why didn't you assign me to work for you?

That crazy Four Eyes. Levi wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing, but he ran straight to the meeting room. The one he always accompanied Erwin to.

But he was too late. The meeting had already adjourned, and people were already leaving. He peeked inside, Hange was still there, scribbling something frantically. She'd been doing this very often lately, writing stuff down before she forgot it. And most of the time ending up staying there for the whole day, and not going back to her office until it was finished.

"Oi, Hange!" He called her from the doorway. She jumped.

What are you doing? Why didn't you take me here with you? He wanted to say, but stopped himself. He wasn't sure if he had the authority to say it. He wasn't in a position to demand anything.

"What is it, Levi?" Hange asked. She had the nerve to ask me that?

Levi looked down at the table. Hange had already mapped out the entire route leading to (hopefully) the ocean.

"Don't you want my opinion on this?" He asked sarcastically.

"Ah . . . actually I do. But I thought I'd talk to the higher ups first and tell you about it later. Right now it's not finalized yet."

Levi felt uncomfortable. How did it get this way? Why am I the last person to know? And only when the decision is finalized? Why wasn't he involved in the planning?!
