Tommy POV:

Fuck! Where is he? Think Tommy, he can't have gone far.

I darted around the whole tower but to no avail.

"Where did he go?"

"Ahhhhhhh TOmMy GEt dOwn HerE NoW!"

Why did she have to find him?! Now I'm in for it.

I ran down the stairs to find [Name] standing in the corner with her staff. A black spider crawled toward her. Hissing ever now and then. His red eyes glowed at her.

"Shroud!"

Shroud look over to me and ran. I gave a few head pats. He was the size of a teddy bear, with eight legs...

He is way bigger than he was before.

"Tommy when I said you could have a pet I meant something like a goldfish or a dog. Not a spider!" She backed out of the corner.

"In my defence, he used to be the size of my hand." I held Shroud in my arms tightly. Hoping she wouldn't take him away or worse... kill him.

"Whatever. It doesn't matter. Next time please tell me when you bring something into our home."

Our home?

"Wait. You're not mad at me?"

"Nope. Though it would be nice if you told me. I'm your friend, you don't have to conceal things from me."

Dream words flooded my mind with harmful lies of the past. Full of venom, stinging like a bee.

"Right... And friends don't hide things from friends. I'm sorry I won't do that again just to take him away from me."

A vivid memory of Dream blowing up my secret chests played in my mind.

It's my fault... Friends don't hide things from each other... So why did I betray Dream?

Tears engulf my face. Taking my ability to communicate my true thoughts and feelings on the matter. I held him tighter. My chest tightened at the thought of losing him.

Before I could beg for mercy, I felt myself being pulled into someone else's arms.

A calming voice found its way into my ears and into my heart. The lyrics of the childhood song drown out Dream's words.

God this lady is so good at calming me down with hugs, it's ridiculous.

My mind drifted off to sleep at the sound of humming. My dreams felt at peace for once.
