Few days have passed like water and Evelyn with Steve are waiting behind the stage, the woman helping him prepare for embarrassment in front of many eyes, not talking about the fact it's gonna be filmed and showed to whole America.

"I don't know if I can do this." Steve muttered after Evelyn handed him his Captain America mask.

Colonel Phillips disagreed with accepting Steve into army by using words: 'he's just an experiment', but then a stranger offered Steve to serve the country. The key the stranger missed is HOW. And now Steve is stuck in some stupid show, Evelyn being his best friend deciding to stay with him and help him handle this disappointing job.

"Well, you agreed to this even if you thought it will be something different. Now you are stuck here, in some weird costume and to that with a MASK that makes you look ridiculous. And me, being your sweet best friend didn't want you to be alone so she decided to stay with you and now she's stuck here with YOU. Now you are the hero of America, only didn't deserve that title yet." Rambled Evelyn, backing away to have better view at his whole figure. Now he reminds her of a clown than a soldier. And Steve feel like one.

"Yet?" Steve switched his supposed question, catching the last word. He know his best friend long enough to know she's not dumb and has special abilities, but seeing into future isn't power she hold.

"Mhmm. Maybe I don't know what future holds for us, but I believe if not yourself then someone else will knock some sense into you and despite everyone against that, you will follow your wishes. It would be disappointing if you didn't." Hearing these words come from her, Steve looked down at the mask.

"With this, I don't know. It's not how I expected it to be." He sighed, both nervous and low on mood. And she's not surprised. If someone offered her to do something like this, her unlady like response would be her middle finger.

I mean, she never knew her mother and father wasn't really a parent figure to raise her the way she was supposed to be, it were her brothers who took the matter into their hands, but even them she didn't really listen, always having mind of her own.

"Yeah, yeah. Me too. Now get that ugly mask on yourself. You have people waiting to see your new American ass." She clapped her hands to hurry him up, recieving a shake of head from him. She hand him his shield before pushing him, covering her mouth to muffle her giggles when he stumbled onto the stage. Ups.

Like this it dragged for months, end seeing the once tiny blonde guy now making a clown out of himself with his new body women drool over is just sad. He wanted to be a soldier, helpful and be saving people's lives, only to end like this. Oh, she can't even imagine what Bucky would say on this.

Ever since Bucky left and it's only her and Steve, they kept sending letters to each other, reassuring the other one they're fine, what's going on around them and how they wish to be together again. Though, she didn't exactly mention both her and Steve got into army as well and that Steve's been experimented on. He would lose his mind.

Recently worries are the main thing she feels, wondering if something happened to the letter or what, three weeks not recieving one from Bucky. She refuse believing something bad happened to him, or worse.

To take her mind off him for a little while, she occupied herself with watching her best friend from behind the stage, wearing a frown. Today they so happened to perform back in camp, the dirty soldiers sitting silently and making Steve feel very awkward and stupid under their gaze. Poor Steve.

They began yelling to bring the dancers back and one of them even showed his bare ass. Evelyn had enough of this and walked on the stage, three shoots in the air to get their attention.
