I spoke to my wife, who was still my girlfriend at the time, that I would like to wear a skirt. Just to try it out. A few days later she brought me a skirt that she had bought. Unfortunately it was a bit too big, but that wasn't a problem. She exchanged it. That's how I got my very first skirt.
Well, it wasn't quite what I imagined a skirt to be. Actually, I had no idea anyway. Except that unlike pants, a skirt has a tube. So it didn't matter. And I still hadn't developed a taste for style. The important thing was that I could try on a skirt, A-line, black, just above the knees. Of course I didn't go outside with it, but I found it quite nice in my apartment. Much more comfortable than pants. Nothing pinches anymore, neither on the knees nor on the lower body, but such a skirt simply fits looser than pants.
At the same time, a new question arose. In colder temperatures, you can't just wear a skirt. It's too cold on the legs. So only the trousers remain? Women who wear a skirt even when the weather is cooler wear tights. Fine, but can I do this as a man?
Why is it actually the case that long men's underpants are underwear that must be hidden from everyone's view as far as possible, while women can wear tights openly and show them to the world? In terms of their purpose, tights are quite comparable to long men's underpants, aren't they? It's all about keeping your legs warm. Ok, colors and patterns are shown here, which makes the whole thing more visually appealing, but has nothing to do with the actual purpose. So why are tights not just underwear that nobody is allowed to see? Is that supposed to be social logic? Nobody has been able to give me a really rational answer to this question so far. I just had to accept that it is so. Even if I had no real explanation.
But first of all, it doesn't matter: in my apartment, where nobody saw me anyway, I could try out how I would like it if I wore a skirt and pantyhose.
