Three months slowly pass by. Kurapika has only sent you one email.

I'm okay. I love you.

That was all it said.

"Where are you, Kurapika?" you ask out loud while you stare at your computer screen.

You slam your laptop shut. You run into your shared walk-in closet to change. You feel a sudden urge to get out of the apartment.

The closet is dark; however, you don't turn on the light. You know exactly where your clothes are. After getting dressed, you slowly pass Kurapika's side of the closet. You reach out to touch one of his suits. They are all neatly lined up. Your heart begins to ache. You start to go through his clothes. You trip over one of his shoes, causing you to bump your head on the wall. Something from the top shelf falls off. You hear the sound of glass breaking. Your feet are suddenly wet.

"What was that?" you ask out loud as you turn on the light.

Your eyes widen as you look at what broke.

"No! No! No! This can't be happening!"

You kneel down to pick up the pieces of broken glass that was holding one of the scarlet eyes. You frantically look around for the actual eyeball. It had rolled to the corner of the closet. You slowly move your hand over it. You hesitate to pick it up. You are afraid of what the texture will feel like.

"I can do this. Okay...what is the name of the substance used to preserve these things? Formaldehyde? Where the hell do I get that?" you ask yourself while carefully placing the eyeball back into the part of the container that didn't break.

You sit back and stare at the scarlet eye. You feel your heart breaking as you think about how The Phantom Troupe forced parents to watch their children be tortured and beheaded. The Troupe wanted to ensure that the eyes of the Kurta were the deepest shade of scarlet possible.

"How cruel!" you shout as tears fall down your cheeks.

You are reminded of why Kurapika is out there right now fighting to retrieve what is rightfully his.

"Kurapika, I support what you're doing. I promise to wait for you." you say to nobody.

After crying about The Kurta Clan for a few minutes, you get up to leave.

You return home hours later. It is already late into the evening. After taking off your shoes, you run back into the closet to place the scarlet eye in its new glass container.

"There we go. Just like new." you say as you carefully place the scarlet eye back with the others.

You make yourself something quick to eat before getting ready for bed.

It is almost midnight. You are finding it hard to fall asleep. You miss Kurapika so much that you feel as if your heart is empty. It can't continue to beat without his presence near you.

As you finally drift off to sleep, you hear a knock at the door. You jolt from the bed.

"Kurapika?" you ask as you run to answer the door.

You are surprised to see two police officers standing at your doorway.

"How can I help you?" you ask, nervously.

The officers look at each other briefly before one of them answers.

"Are you (Y/N)?" he asks.
"Yes. Why? Did I do something wrong?" you answer. Sweat drops form on your forehead.
"There was an accident."
"An accident? I'm confused."
"Were you close to Mr. Kurapika Kurta?"
"Kurapika? Yes. Why? Did something happen to him?" you ask. Your heart rate increases.
"Do you mind coming with us? We need your help identifying his body."
"His body? What are you telling me? That Kurapika is dead?" you ask while tears begin to fill your eyes.
"We aren't one hundred percent sure. That's why we need your help."
