I wondered into the first store there; not caring what was inside but just to have some alone time. It turned out it was a Hallmark but I couldn't care less. The walls were a pale yellow color and the store was filled of row after row filled with cards and stuff like that. There was a huge table full of Christmas themed stuff too with cards and stuff toys which matched the Christmas music playing in the store. I began walking down the aisles looking at the cards for every occasion there ever was. Chistmas was coming up soon; in a month and a half to be more exact. But even though it was that far away stores were already trying to sell christma everything.
The last time I was at this mall was the day after I met him. But I guess if what Ross said was true, they were here to see me on purpose. It wasn't a conisense bumping into him. It was supposed to happen, it was made to happen. I felt a bump in my throat appear, creating it hard to breathe at a normal pace. Tears threated to pour but I held them back trying to bear with the stinging. At least something's come good out of this. A free shopping card for any store. Although I was never aware of this contest on the day but apparently we were the 200 customer or something like that. I guess I was unaware of a lot that day, though. I heard the store bell ring but I didn't bother to move, I kept my gaze on the card section.
"Are you-but you're so" a womas voice said behind me.
I looked at the girl in shock. I squinted and looked around at the aisles to make sure she was talking to me. She then pointed at the card section in front of me. The section had a pink banner with cards all with babies on them.
"I think she's just thinking" a man calls from the front. I turn to face the eavesdropper but I guess most people were staring at me due to the girl pointing out where I was in front of. The other customers looked unaware of how I might be in this situation. Well most of them probably know but were really thinking how I could be so silly to actually get into that situation. The man at the front had brown hair which paired nicly with his soft brown eyes. He made no eye contact with me but he looked like he was no more than 20 years old. It created curiosity why someone like him is working in a card store when he could be working somewhere more, well exciting.
"Yeah I'm thinking" I say still keeping my gaze on the boy. Although I was not thinking anymore about him, I was thinking how I was going to leave without buying anything. The woman who had just accused me quickly apologised and then again and then started to talk about how many pregnant teen girls there are these days. I nod at her words but keep my eyes on the door where the boy was standing near to. I begin to walk back to the door keeping my gaze on the outside of the store. Wanting so badly to get out there, almost as much as I wanted to get in here in the first place.
"Going already? Sorry if I made you uncomfortable" he asked making me stop in my tracks. Why couldn't anyone leave me alone?
"I'm fine, I should really catch up to my......" I say but begin stuttering. I couldn't possibly say parents. But I couldn't think of anything else to say either.
"Boyfriend?" he asked thinking he was helping. I nodded anyway and opened the heavy door creating the same sound of chimes. The truth was, that I would have nodded whatever he said. I pushed my way through while still trying to hold my bag on my shoulder.
