9. Bumblebee

Douxie POV:

Laylah laid there in bed out cold. I held her hand. I was worried about her.

I mean I always am. I couldn't imagine the thought of loosing her. The fact that we both have been in this exact position before.

Her passed out. Me beside her hoping she is okay. I wish we could just be normal teenagers and not have to worry about the world ending.

But we did end up in this mess. Now we gotta get out.

Laylah's eye lids slowly opened. I gasped

"Laylah?" I whisper

She slowly sits up and rubs her eyes and looks at me. Oh please Merlin let her remember.

"Doux?" She whispered

I couldn't hold back anymore I quickly grabbed her and pulled her close to me. I gave her a hug.

She slowly goes to hug me back.

"Um Doux?" She whispers

"Yeah?"

"What happened?" She asks

That's right, it must just be a big blur now. I shake my head. "Nothing, it doesn't matter now"

We finally release from the hug.

Laylah looks around and observes around. "Where's the others?"

"Their out there" I say pointing to the door.

"R-right" She stutters

She looks down at Archie and Adeline. Adeline flies up at Laylah and rubs her head under her chin.

She smiles. It was good to see Laylah smiling again.

"So, I lost my powers huh...." She sighs

"Um...well" I stutter

I looked into her eyes. They looked dull and sad. I knew she knew. There wasn't any point in lying.

"Well...yes" I admit

Her eyes start to water.

"Laylah!" I say coming closer to her.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean t-"

"I'm sorry" She sniffs

"What are you apologizing for?" I smile wiping the tears off her face.

"It's my fault, its all my fault"

Tears stream down her face like a river. I felt so bad for her.

"If I had just stopped the arcane order from the spell the world wouldn't be in danger.."

I kissed her horehead and grabbed her hands. "It's not you're fault, you tried everything you could, you're one of the strongest people I know"

"So don't be so hard on yourself bumblebee"

She looks up at me and acts surprised.

"Bumblebee?" She whispers

I nod and scruff up her hair. "It's a new nickname for you, I hope you like it" I chuckle

"Thanks Doux" She smiles

I clap my hands together as I stand up. Archie jumps on my shoulder.

"Well we should probably go now, I mean we have to help"

"I couldn't agree more" Laylah smiles rising up from the bed and Adeline jumps on her shoulder.
