The Beginning

I am writing this as an honor to someone who has stolen my heart in a way I had never expected. The moment I decided to write this here is when I realized I can't pour it to anyone anymore. A friend actually gave me this idea to write it here. This is an authentic story of him and I. We are too far away from each other, yes, we had long distance relationship and long-distance religion too (LOL) but yeah, we had an equal love feeling just like anybody else who fell in love.

Jack is the name.

Everything started when I was in my last days in semester break. I was in a great boredom, so I decided to install a social application for fandoms and communities on my phone. I was so awkward at first, I had no friends at all. After I decorated and did my profile theme a bit, I went offline for a while. I was rarely there, to be honest, because I had no friends, and it was awkward to talk to everyone. I talked to couple of people, but it ended just like that,

Until...

After some hours, I went online back as I received a notification that someone invited me into a group chat. Forgot to mention that I was in Harry Potter community. Okay, back to the story, there was someone with Cedric Diggory's profile picture added me into the group. It was a random group he was in. I knew no one there, not even him.

"Ced, you just kidnapped another Harry, didn't you?" someone whose name was Amanda texted. And the person that was called as "Ced"; the one who invited me into the group chat replied, "Welcome another Harry!"

I frowned in confusion at the moment, I did not know any of them but I greet them anyway, awkwardly, I must add.

"Hello"

I sent.

This Ced, he kept inviting me into a few more groups that he was in. He talked to me in group chats. I was hella awkward. I did not reply much, I mean-- I did not give back the same energy. Not because I did not like him, but I was awkward socially. He was known as someone who simped over Harry Potter, he befriended every Harry he saw on the app. It was cute, to be honest. A bit funny too.

After a few hours, I felt like it would be nice to greet this person personally. I knew I wanted to befriend him. He seemed so nice and sweet. So, I decided to initiate a personal conversation,

"Hi Cedric!"

Welp, it is normal there to call someone as who they have on their profile picture. For example, I had Harry Potter as my profile picture, so people over there basically called me Harry.

He replied, "Hey :) how are you?"

We talked since then. He was nice, very nice, I know how much I have said that but yeah. He seemed cold  A BIIIIT at the beginning of our chat and my overthinking ass cannot help to think if he disliked me as a person. But, of course, that was not it. So, we instantly got in character and I asked him some bullshits about Quidditch.

And, it got awkward back. It was not him, it was me. I apologized "Sorry, I had not have roleplay for a long time so I am having hard time adapting in character now. I might take two or three days to get in character"

I changed the topic because I felt awkward AGAIN ugh. So, I asked him "What time is it there?", considering we were far away, and we might not be in a same country. It was expected anyway, since the community itself is global.

"It's 11am now. How about you?"

I replied "Oh, it's almost 12pm here" I was dumb because actually our time zone is same LMAO *facepalm*

"Anyway, I am Rose, 20 years old, from Malaysia. You?"

"Jack. You can call me Jack or Ced. People here usually call me Ced but up to you. I am 18 years old, and oh, we live close to each other then. I am from the Philippines"

There it started. That was how we introduced ourselves to each other. I can't believe how much time flew since the day we introduced and talked to each other for the first time. I never expected he would become one of the most important people in my life. I know, it is an online thingy and a long-distance too, but the feelings are real.

We talked more. Jack is a Filipino-Chinese guy. He mentioned about wanting to go back to China because Philippines was so hot back then at the moment. But at the same time, he said, he does not want to. He was a complete mess sheesh XDD.

The title of this book is taken from the date we talked to each other which was on 2021, 12th October.

I can't believe I am writing this with more word counts compared to my fictional books lmao. Anyway, yeah, we talked and he asked if I was new to whole app or just the community. I answered, I was kinda new to whole app; I used to have it last times but it was a long time ago and I totally forgot everything already so it felt like something new to me while it was not really.

I remembered he mentioned how nerdy he was that he was so good and pro using the app. He knew every trick to do this and that. I was blessed to have him as a friend back then. He rejoined the community a few days ago, near to the day I joined.

It was evening, I texted him if we could roleplay together if he had time soon. He said "Yes, sure" and we started to ensure some things before we begin such as boundaries, triggers, etc. These things are important for both sides of a roleplay to know about each other before they start roleplaying to make sure each side is comfortable and have fun.

We roleplayed, chitchatted in group chats sometimes. Truthfully, I only appeared in group chats when he was around. He was the only friend I had at the moment.
