Damon POV
Not to sound extremely boastful but I was easily the hottest guy on campus here at Mystic Falls High School. Girls would literally throw themselves at me hoping that they could become my girlfriend. Klaus was my loyal sidekick and was like a brother to me. It was safe to say that my relationship with Klaus was even better than my relationship with my actual brother, Stefan. In my family, Stefan was the blue-eyed boy of my family. Father always favored Stefan for reasons unknown to me and Mother was never around at home. She was more likely to be in another part of the world with another of her boy toys. It was no secret that the love in the Salvatore marriage had completely dissolved away. Since I wasn’t very much welcomed at home, I usually hung out with Mason and Harper at the Mystic Grill drinking away and Klaus joined us occasionally. Among the four of us, Klaus was the most sensible one due to the fact that he was partially still a momma’s boy. So while the three of us were banging hot chicks here and there, he was at home playing video games while waiting for me since I slept over at Klaus’s house house most of the time.
Even though I had the reputation of a bad boy that was just a front that I put on, I also had a soft side that I didn’t show to anyone except maybe only to Klaus because I could trust him with anything of mine. I was waiting for a special someone to come along. Someone who would understand me and except me wholly for who I was. Even though I had banged so many chicks here and there none of them had caught my eye as they were all the typical slutty girls who was dying to go on a date with me to improve their popularity status. I was looking for someone pure who could balance out my wild lifestyle.
Summer was starting and I was hoping that I could meet someone that had all of that qualities and who was going to love me unconditionally. Sighing, I took out my diary and started writing in it. Only Klaus knew I had a diary. Bless my soul if Mason or Harper knew about my diary. I knew they would totally disown me if they knew of my soft side.
Dear diary,
Summer is just starting. I know I have to work hard this year because I’m coming into my final year and I need to make kick-ass grades to graduate so that I can get into a good college. Even though sometimes I terribly want to go home with Klaus after school so that we can study, I also want to keep up my appearances so that Mason and Harper does not know about the soft side that exists in Damon Salvatore. So I have no choice but to follow Mason and Harper to The Grill to drink or bang chicks. I actually hate living this kinda lifestyle, but after being rejected by my own family for so many years, this is the only way that I feel I get accepted. Sometimes I feel so bad for leaving Klaus alone to study but since Mase and Harper know that Klaus is like that, they don’t really bother about him but still include him when the four of us meet up. When I want to study, Klaus is either already asleep when I reach his house or I’m too tired to do so. This Summer I wish I could meet someone that I could be completely in love with and vice-versa, and also who would have a good effect on me that I can start to seriously study and not care about Mase and Harper reactions when they see my soft side. Oops I hear the door close, which means that either Father or Stefan is home. I had better get to Klaus’s house for dinner and hopefully do some work/studying before Mase calls me. (sigh)
~ Damon G. Salvatore
I threw my diary in my bag and searched around my room for my homework, notes and books. As silently as possible, I walked out of the Salvatore boarding house to Klaus’s house, hoping that I wouldn’t meet Father, Stefan, Mason or Harper. I didn’t feel like dealing with any of their shit now.
Elena POV
“Elena wake up!! We’re here!!” I woke up to Caroline over me, shaking me awake. I rubbed away the sleepiness from my eyes and quickly grabbed my bags and got down the bus. I looked around as I took in my first breath of Mystic Falls air. The air smelt so fresh and the place looked amazing. I couldn’t wait for summer exchange to start, I could already feel that it was going to be a blast!!
“Ok everyone!! We’re in Mystic Falls. Today, we’ll spend the night at the Mystic Falls High School dorm as they’ve allocated a section for us to stay in. Tomorrow we will gather at the entrance of the dorm at 8am to go and eat breakfast. I’ll tell you all the rest of the plan tomorrow. For now, all of you can room however you like but use the rooms only in this block from levels one and two. Go and have a good rest, don’t sleep too late, make sure to pack all the nesassary things you need for school tomorrow and us teachers will see you here in the morning at 8am, please don’t be late.” Mrs Branson reminded us as she debriefed us.
Caroline, Bonnie and me roomed together. “Sorry girls, but I think I’m gonna crash. I fell really tired.”
“Yeah me too” quipped Bonnie.
“Okies goodnight girls.” chirped Caroline.
“Goodnight”. I closed my eyes and was soon in the land of dreams.
