Hey everyone!! So sorry I haven't updated in like a million years. School presentations, projects and well just school has been in the way and I've been quite tired to think of something to write. Here's another chapter. Enjoy!!~~~

Damon POV

I felt someone tap my shoulder and I turned around and came face to face with a familiar pair of doe-like brown eyes. For some strange reason I couldn't remember the name of this gorgeous beauty standing in front of me.

"Hey Damon, I'm Elena. We met yesterday."

Well that anwsers my question. How could I forget her name? The gorgeous girl that I had been dreaming about all night and who was the one who let Stefan pinpoint my moment of weakness. I laid in bed trying to sleep last night and I was about to head to the Grill to drink and have another one-night stand to tire myself out, but I couldn't. Elena's innocent face kept popping up in my mind, and it felt like I was cheating on her if I slept with another girl.

"Oh right. Hi Elena, it's nice to see you again. And this my good friend Klaus. We've been friends since kindergarten. Anyways, what's up with the sudden visit? I thought Stefan might have told you to stay far away."

"It doesn't matter, Stefan isn't my mother or father, he doesn't have the right to tell me that I cannot speak to you or to anybody else that he doesn't like. Anyway, I can tell that he has a crush on me, but I don't even like him in that way. Plus, you can't be that horrible and since you're the brother of my exchange program partner, I wanted to learn more about you too."

Elena Gilbert wanted to know more about me? Wow that was a first. But of course I didn't mind. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever met. "Oh ok. Let's talk, I'll walk you to your next class at the same time. Mine doesn't start till about 30 minutes later."

Elena POV

I was surprised. Even though his brother wasn't around, he acted like a total gentleman. Definitely a far cry from how Stefan described him, or it could just have been all an act for wanting to get into my pants. But as I looked into his eyes when he offered to walk me to class, all I saw was the sincerity in them and I agreed.

"So... the name's Elena right? Where do you come from? If you don't mind me asking."

"Yeah I'm Elena. I come from a town about 5 hours away. It's called Whitmore, if you've ever heard of it?"

"I've heard of it. Some of my relatives live there too. I used to go there occasionally during the holidays when I was younger and well... when my family was more functional than dysfunctional..."

My heart clenched when I heard the underlying tone of hurt in his voice and I thought I saw his eyes start to water but it was gone before I could take a good look at his face. So that was why he always had that troubled look whenever he talked to Stefan.

Being the selfless and caring person that I am, I reached out my hand and gripped Damon's arm reassuringly. "I'm always here if you need someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on ok?" He nodded and I pulled him into a friendly hug. He stiffened at first, with made me really embarrassed, but just as I was about to pull away, he relaxed and hugged me back. I pulled away and realized we were standing in front of my classroom. Immediately, I felt sad that I couldn't talk to him longer. Stefan was probably inside and I didn't want to create a scene when he found out that I was talking to Damon.

"Hey so here's my classroom, thanks for walking me here. Maybe I'll see you after class?" I asked Damon, keeping the option of meeting him later open. I was really hoping that he would say yes. I wanted to know more about him rather than going through another night of talking with Stefan at the Grill. I mean Stefan was really nice and was turning out to be another of my best friends, but I was about to go crazy if I had to endure another few hours of Stefan's not so subtle flirtatious looks that were directed towards me. I only saw him as a brother, nothing else and I was hoping he would catch my drift soon. I didn't want to embarrass either one of us when the time came. Plus, Damon was seriously hawt. Yes hawt. And those striking ocean blue eyes just lured me in.

"Erm yeah. I finish at 4. What about you? Maybe we'll catch a snack at the Grill or if you prefer to go elsewhere... it's er... up to you." Damon's respond to my question brought me back from my daydreaming and I giggled when I saw a faint blush creep up Damon's cheeks.

"Yeah I finish at 4 too. I'll see you then!" I watched Damon give me a smirk/smile and my heart started beating faster. Un oh, am I developing a crush on Damon, the supposed player but super hot brother of Stefan Salvatore? I pushed that thought to the back of my mind and waved goodbye to Damon as I walked into my class.

——————

The first person I saw when I stepped into class was none other than Stefan. Darn, I really didn't feel like dealing with him now. Not after I just talked to Damon. I waved in his direction and turned around, trying to look for Caroline and Bonnie. I spotted Caroline waving to me from the back of the classroom and immediately hurried over.

"What happened over there? You aren't usually that awkward around Stefan..."

"It's nothing ok Care? I'm fine, just feeling a little tired that's all." Immediately, Caroline and Bonnie sensed my discomfort and decided not to probe further. I was really thankful for that. I just needed this time to be just with my thoughts.

Stefan POV

What just happened there? It was as if Elena was desperate to get away from me. I didn't do anything to offend her did I? Maybe I'll just talk to her after class then.

After Class

At 4, when the bell finally rang, I saw Elena jump up from her seat and throwing everything into her book bag. It was as if she was excited to do something or meet someone. Her odd behavior wouldn't have gone unnoticed by Caroline and Bonnie, so I'm guessing she told them what her after school plans were. I wondered where she was going, so I decided to follow her.

Elena walked out of the classroom and out the doors towards the quad. I stopped walking when she was about a table away from me. I pretended to play Candy Crush Soda while keeping an eye out for Elena. About 5 minutes later, I noticed Elena's face light up and she ran towards someone.

Wait a minute, that guy looks familiar. I take a closer look and realized, it was Damon, my brother. Oh Gosh. I thought. What in the world was Elena doing with my brother? I'm pretty sure I made myself quite clear when I requested her to stay away from Damon for her safety. Damon would only use her and then dump her. I certainly didn't want to see anyone hurt Elena, certainly not my brother. I clenched my fist and was prepared to walk towards them to give Damon a piece of my mind, but Elena's melodious laugh floated through my ears at that second and she looked genuinely happy that I didn't have the heart to ruin her conversation with Damon. I decided to let it go just this once. But if Damon ever hurt Elena, there was definitely a big price to pay. Watch out Damon, I'm watching you. I thought.
