Author's note: Hello, dreamers! This is a new book that will be a 'what if' scenario! It's a second timeline where Lilith was able to save Dire, and where their relationship will go after! I have ten chapters outlined, and the first will be about Lilith saving Dire, and the last will be about their wedding in the future! This is separate from my other stories, but I have a planned mini crossover in the near future! ;) So, with that out of the way, enjoy!
I. The Timeline Split
The battle raged around Dire and Lilith. Daydreamers fought Nightdreamers in a battle no one had seen since the days of Alessia's original rule.
And the two of them were right in the middle of it.
Lilith lay on the ground, being protected by Aurora Borealis. She had just shielded her love, Dire, from a blast of dark energy, but something else was happening. Dio had frozen him, preparing to shatter his body into a million tiny pieces.
But Lilith would never let Dio kill him.
"DIRE!" Lilith screamed and lunged at Dio. She knocked him down, and he bumped his head in the process.
Lilith used her newfound ice powers to thaw Dire, and they embraced. "I thought you were dead!" Lilith said.
"Me too!" Dire said, hugging Lilith.
Now, everyone knows what happens next. Dio regains his composure, aims his knife towards Lilith, but hits Dire instead, ending his life and devastating Lilith.
But I, the Author, have a different tale in mind.
What if Dio was knocked unconscious when Lilith pushed him?
What if Dire was still alive?
What if he and Lilith were able to rule a kingdom together?
What if Lilith didn't attack Dio in a rage?
What if he attacked their kingdom?
This is a cautionary tale, about how just because something doesn't go your way, it's not always wise to alter things...
