II. The Date
Dire and Lilith were getting ready for their first date. Lilith was excited because this was to be their first true date. Aurora Borealis had helped them book a reservation at the best restaurant in town. After getting ready, the two of them left. As they were driving to their destination, the two of them listened to music.
Radio announcer: Now, up next is an epic love song that has stood the test of time. 'Eternity' by Dreams Come True!
The music started playing, and it was as if the two of them were transported to another world. One of Dire's hands was steering the car, and the other was holding Lilith's hand.
As the music played, Dire told Lilith, "Lilith, I have something to tell you."
"What is it, Dire?" Lilith asked.
"I will never desert you. As time goes by, these battles will get deadlier and deadlier, to the point where one of us may eventually perish." He looked Lilith's way. "But I just want you to know, even if the odds seem insurmountable, I will always come back to you, Lilith" Dire said.
"I feel the same way. Even if fate manages to kill us both, it can never separate us. We'll find our way back together, no matter what." Lilith said.
The song ended. Radio announcer: And that was 'Eternity,' by Dreams Come True! You know, that'll always be the ultimate fictional love song in my eyes, but the listeners beg to differ! This song has been requested by you guys about 10 times today! Next up is 'Always Come Back to You' Love theme from The Nutcracker prince!
The next song started playing, and it was just as beautiful as the first.
Dire pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant, but he and Lilith stayed in the car just until the song ended.
The two of them entered the restaurant. Dire walked up to the front desk and talked to the host.
"Hello, I have a reservation for two under the name Borealis," Dire said.
"Oh, yes, Miss Aurora called us and told us two people would be dining here under her name. If you'd just follow me, folks, your table is right over here!" the warm host said. Dire and Lilith followed her to their table. "Please be seated, and a server will be right with you." She said.
The two of them sat down. "This place is amazing!" Lilith said, taking in the beautiful atmosphere.
"It is." Dire looked at Lilith. "But not as amazing as you." He said.
"Thank you," Lilith said, smiling at her lover.
"I would also like to discuss Frosteria, and what we should do about restoring it," Dire said.
"Well, I know one thing. I hardly know anything about being royal! How could I survive with all of those rules?" Lilith asked.
Dire touched her hand. "Lilith, I don't care about those things in a princess, queen, or any other royal person. It's what's inside that counts. All that matters is that you and I rule with goodness, fairness, and kindness." Dire said.
"Thank you. I was afraid I would have to do stuff like walking with books on my head!" Lilith said.
"Yeah. That reminds me of a funny story from when my family was still around." When he spoke about them, a faraway, sad look appeared in Dire's eyes. "My mother and father taught me not to care too much about royal rules, as long as we behaved well out in public. My mother was never a 'you must perfect your posture by walking with books on your head' type of queen, but one time my sister, Frosteria, who was named after the kingdom, decided to try it for fun. She got a few steps, then the entire pile came crashing down!" Dire laughed, but his laughter stopped when he realized they were gone.
Lilith put her hand on his shoulder. "I know how it feels. But you have an ever-growing family at the Mansion of Lucidity, so you're not alone anymore." Lilith said. The fact that he had so many new people who cared about him comforted him.
Just then, the server came. he asked Dire and Lilith what they would like to drink, and they ordered sparkling waters. He brought the drinks.
"To a new future for Frosteria," Lilith said. She and Dire clinked their glasses together and drank.
Sometime after that, the server took their orders. Dire ordered a steak, and Lilith ordered wild mushroom risotto. They both enjoyed their meals.
"Dire, I have to ask you something."
"Go ahead." He said.
"What should be done about Dio? He's still roaming around, so we have to do something about him." Lilith said.
Dire said, "Yes, that does pose a threat... But just as we said, no matter what happens..."
"We'll always be together..." The two of them said together, holding hands.
They finished their meal and went home.
That night, before going to sleep, they shared a kiss like no other. It was full of passion and love.
After their lips parted, Lilith said, "Always and forever?"
Dire nodded, and answered, "Always and forever."
The two fell asleep in each other's arms.
Meanwhile, Dio was plotting Dire and Lilith's demise...
Those two will pay for defeating me. They humiliated me, and now they're going to die. Dio thought. I'll attack them at the Haventown Ball tomorrow night when they least expect it. I'll make sure they're never able to rule Frosteria together... Dio grinned evilly.
Yes, this is what will happen to Dire and Lilith. Destined to die at the hands of Dio Brando... No one can stop fate... Those two will inevitably die... Because The Author says so...
Author's note: So, there you have it! Will Dire and Lilith be able to stop the terrible fate they're both heading towards? The next chapter will be about Dio's first attack on Dire and Lilith and the Haventown Ball! The other main characters like Aurora, Lily, Cadenza, or anyone else won't be in this as much, because this is supposed to be Dire and Lilith's tale. :) So, with that out of the way, don't forget to stay lucid!
