VI. The Crystal

It was daytime in the Great Palace of Frosteria. Queen Blossom was there, and she was telling Dire, Lilith, and Snowy about their next task.

"The two of you must find the Frostgale Crystal. It is a crown from a video game called League of Angels: Paradise Land. Dire's signet ring holds merely a fraction of the crown's power, and in order to imbue Lilith with the full power of Frosteria, she will need it for her coronation." Blossom pulled out a portrait of Queen Frostellia wearing it. "Here is a picture of the former Queen of Frosteria wearing the crown on the day of her coronation," Blossom said. Dire shed a tear when he saw his mother. Lilith placed a hand on his shoulder.

"So, we just need to recover the crown?" Snowy said.

"Yes, you do. It was hidden somewhere in this palace right after the royal family perished. There were many people who loved this kingdom, and hid the crown in the palace, somewhere secret, so if any royal family members miraculously survived, they could reclaim the crown." Blossom looked straight at Dire. "Yes, Dire. You are the eldest surviving heir, so the crown belongs to you and your queen." She smiled.

"But where will it be?" Lilith asked.

"The legend says the only one who will know where the crown rests is the one who holds the heart of the future king. The crown will call you, and guide you to it, Lilith." Blossom said.

"To tell you the truth, I have been feeling like something's been pulling me forwards to it since I've been in the palace," Lilith said.

"That's your crown. It wants you so desperately to put it on and become the first Frosterian Queen in years.

"Ok, blossom, we'll go find the crown, and restore our kingdom!" Lilith said.

"Good luck," Blossom said with a smile.

So, the three of them set off, into the deepest part of the palace. Lilith guided them along, being called by the Frostgale Crystal.

"I hear it calling me this way," Lilith said, pointing to a blue staircase.

"I'm curious. What does the voice sound like when it's calling you?" Dire asked.

"It feels like the whistling of a winter wind, whispering to me, beckoning me towards its source," Lilith said.

"That sounds beautiful," Dire said.

"Yes, it really is..." Lilith said, before seeing something in the distance.

It was an old tapestry. It depicted a picture of two warring ice beings. Lilith began to read what was written on it. "The Great Ice War was the historical war between siblings Winterboltand Frostgale I." Lilith's eyes widened. "F-Frostgale? Was he named after her, or something?" She asked. She read on. "The original Great Ice Queen, Frostellia I, wanted her daughter, the youngest, to rule the ice world because her older son was selfish and cruel. Queen Frostellia ruled both aspects of ice. She would bring both cruel, coldness to the world, and beauty, mystique, and the winter. Her two children were a split version of her. Winterbolt was cold and cruel, while Frostgale was beautiful, calm, mysterious, and kind. Her intentions were to help nature, while Winterbolt's were to harm it. That's why the queen wanted her daughter to rule. Frostgale wouldn't have it. So that's why he attacked his sister during her coronation. He cursed her and sealed her into a crown of pure ice. Her spirit form was able to come out from time to time, but she had become cold just like her brother, and would freeze worlds with her power." Lilith said.

"That's while it's called the Frostgale Crystal!" Snowy said.

Lilith read on. "Legend has it, that the ice Frostgale was imprisoned in was made from Winterbolt's crystallized tears, which he shed because of what he had become. Aurora, another Angel, also used the crown's power. Long ago, when the earth was still young, she tried to smash it and release Frostellia, but it wouldn't work. Instead, when Aurora's ax collided with the crown, a shockwave of ice, snow, and frost energy emitted from the crown. That was the true cause of the first Ice Age. Whoever the shockwave hit was also gifted dormant ice powers, that would awaken years from that point. Queen Elsa of Arendelle got her powers from the crown. The crown was the source of all Fictional ice powers." The story ended there.

"Wow... This is amazing... The only person who is able to access these secrets is the future rulers of Frostellia." Dire said.

"No one but you knows the truth about this story." A voice said, from behind the tapestry.

"Who-?" Lilith asked.

"Pull down the tapestry to reveal the door to my chamber." The voice said again.

Lilith complied and pulled gown the tapestry. There was a door behind it. Lilith reached out and opened it, to reveal a room with a beautiful crown on a table in the middle of it.

"The Frostgale Crystal..." Lilith said, staring at the crown in awe.

"Yes, and I am Frostgale, or, as the humans call me, Princess Snow Kaguya." Frostgale rose up from the crown in spirit form.

"It's really you... But, what do you mean no one but me knows about this story?" Lilith said.

"Because you are the one who will bring light back to Frosteria. You are the one who has the right to know the truth." Frostgale said. "Allow me to explain." so Frostgale told the false tale. "The generations before you believed our mother sealed me away in the crown herself, to put Winterbolt in charge of the world. But none of that was true." Frostgale took a deep breath and prepared herself. "Dire, you are about to learn the truth of your parentage. Your mother, Frostellia, went by another name, also. Frozen Heart." Frostgale said.

Dire's eyes went wide. "Frostgale was an angel... That means... our family has godly blood in our veins..." Dire said.

Frostgale nodded. "It is true. Frostellia was Frozen Heart." Frostgale said.

"So Dire's basically a god..." Lilith said, amazed.

"Yes, he is a god, but you, Lilith, are the one who has earned the Frostgale Crystal," Frostgale said. She picked up the crown and placed it in Lilith's hands. "Remember, don't put it on until your coronation. That is the time when you finally ascend to the throne." Frostgale said, before fading back into the crown.

"Lilith, I love you, and I'm so proud of you!" Dire said, hugging Lilith.

"I'm proud too!" Snowy said, joining in on the hug.

So, the three of them took the crown and went to go prepare for the wedding...

Author's note: Hello, dreamers! So, I kind of liked writing this chapter. Then the next one will deal with the actual wedding! Fun fact: I was so excited about the wedding chapter that I jumped straight into writing it, and almost forgot to write this one! So, I hoped you enjoyed that little funny tidbit! Don't forget to stay lucid!
