The next day was Saturday. Kinsey and Tyler and Bode had given Lorelei all of the friends cell phone numbers as a precaution. Lorelei took advantage of that by talking to Gabe all the time. Whether it be texting or late night phone calls. The only person Lorelei felt had the right to know about her significant other was Nina. So whenever Lorelei went out on an outing with Gabe, someone would know where she is. Even though Gabe is 18, Lorelei still felt reluctant to tell Nina who she was dating. Some nights she stayed at his dorm, he snuck her in. Some days she snuck him into her room.
They didn't always do something sexual. Mostly they had meaningful talks. They had learned so much about each other. Some things they refused to share as of yet. They were damaged beings, but not broken, meaning they can heal. Hopefully, they'll help each other do that.
"My parents got divorced when I was young. My dad took full custody but my mom was still in the picture. They alternated weekends but it was still weird ya know? They were together my whole life in one house and then they weren't anymore. They didn't think about me when coming to that decision. My dad got remarried with a golddigger. They spend all their time away. They go on trips. My dad didn't even come to see me on my first day here. My mom no longer fought to see me anymore. She continued on with her new life and made a new family. It's like they both abandoned me." Gabe confessed his family life to his girlfriend who he knew he could trust with his life. "I won't abandon you, not unless you want me too." Lorelei assured him. "I'll always want you Lorelei. Always."
"Phil's is better thats it. Done." Gabe shook his head. "No, Stan's is better." "You say that because you don't like seafood but love pizza." Gabe rolled his eyes. "You're right. Lets agree to disagree." Lorelei pulled him close by his jeans and wrapped her arms around his neck to kiss him. "Yeah, we can do that." Gabe agreed mindlessly, getting lost in the kiss.
"Coke." "Dr. Pepper." "Coke." "Dr. Pepper." "Coke!" "Just because you sniff it, doesn't mean its the best drink." Lorelei shut Gabe down in his arguement and left his speechless. "That's not–hey!"
Lorelei had just got home from spending the night with Gabe. She was happy, until she was alone. She was in a burning hot bath, not caring about the pain. She simply sat for a while but when her thoughts got a little too dark, she went under the water. She screamed where no one could hear her. She stayed under even when having no air in her lungs. On the brink of passing out, she came up for air with a gasp. She curled up into herself and snapped her rubberband. It stung a little more while wet.
After half an hour, the water got freezing cold. Lorelei got out of the bath and dried off. She got dressed in a thick black turtleneck, a flannel, and navy blue jeans.
