The CrestWorld I : Stuck

A camp!

"This will feed us" "But it a human" "Nasty human" "Will eating it be good?" "No choice! We need food" "We share and eat" "Feast today" "Chief happy" "Rewards" "I caught this! chief reward me" "No! me" "Naaa, I throw rock. Reward mine" "I saw first. Reward mine" "Nooo" "My reward" "My reward" "Mine!!!"

"Ugh!"

Did I fell off from somewhere? I remember getting ready for my revenge hunt when something hit my head and I fainted. I still feel a bit dizzy. I checked the back of my head, the bleeding had stopped. I think someone was there when I fainted. I couldn't see clearly. I can't recall.

"Mine!!!"

I heard a shout. Opened my eyes; sight still blurry but it was dark all around. I guess the sun's gone down. But I can see faintly in the moon's light. Three tiny human like creatures are quarrelling. One of them has my spear. But the problem is my limbs are tied too! I stayed quiet and listened to their squabble.

"I catch human! My reward" "You lie! You liar!" "I get reward! "Both you lie" "I use rock! My reward" "You lie" "Me true" "Me get everything"

For some reason, I am able to understand there words. They seem to be quarrelling over who caught me. So, I am their prey! This is an ugly situation. Since I can't run or fight, the only solution is to talk my way out. These creatures also seem foolish. Lets try something.

"Hey you three. Why am I tied?" The things got startled and looked at me. "Why am I tied?", I shouted this time as if scolding some kids. The three retreated in fear and kept watching me from far. They kept whispering to each other and slowly walked towards me. "Why have you tied me?", I shouted louder than before. They jumped back in fear and said hesitantly, " We sorry! We sorry! Don't kill us" One of them started weeping.

I repeated, "Answer my question! Why have you tied me?" One of them blurted out, "Chief says to find food! We find you." "We sorry! We sorry!"

"What are you?" I asked. "We goblin", the three said together. Well... I don't have any idea about these creatures called goblins. They look tiny, less than half of my height. This helps in intimidating them. But these are creatures with intelligence and can speak. It will be better to go to their settlement. I will get some information about this place.

"Why did chief ask you to find food?"
One of them replied, "monster take away everything. No food left. Goblin dying."
"Untie me and take me to your place. I want to meet your chief." Hearing that, they quickly untied me.

I stood up and streched my body a bit. I think these goblins are in some kind of crisis. Will have to find out everything from the chief.

I snatched back my spear from them and said, "now lead the way."

The three were walking fast as if they are afraid that I might kill them any moment. These goblins do have intelligence but are easily manipulated. If it's the same with all of them then that would be great. I am curious to meet their so called chief.

It's very difficult to see in the dark. A very small amount of moonlight reaches the ground. But these goblins can see fine. They must have eyes for that.

Due to the darkness, I couldn't figure out the path I was going. I just quietly followed the kids. I was confident that incase they do anything fishy, I can easily knock them out. My DIY spear 2.0 seems quite capable.

After walking for a good amount of time, they took a stop. Turned to me and said, "we are here" One of them ran into some bushes. "Where did he go?" I asked. "He bring chief. He also bring fire." So, I waited, looking at the direction the goblin ran. This place had a familiar feeling. An aroma that I have been through before.
