As my spear pierced through the monster's belly, a thick black liquid burst out. I stepped back to avoid it but some of it still hit my hand.
'Aah!!', I moaned in pain. The part where the liquid touched, started to sting. The pain started increasing as if the fluid was buring through my flesh. My vision started to blur and i could feel my consciousness fading..
A sweet and pleasant aroma entered my nose. I don't know for how long I have been unconscious, but this smell makes me feel hungry. I looked around. I remember killing that monster and getting hit by some black fluid. And that happened in a forest. But right now I am inside some place dark and damp. There is a small fire nearby and something is being cooked over it.
That seemed to be the source of this wonderful aroma. I wonder what's being cooked? I haven't eaten for long. But wait, where is the cook? Who is the person cooking? Is it someone from that murderous goblin tribe!!
I couldn't resist the aroma and got up to go take a look at cooking utencil. I still felt a slight dizziness but stood up to walk. My hand had been bandaged by some cloth and the pain was gone. I guess the cook must be a good person to have treated my wound.
I walked over to the fire and what a delightfull sight! Small chunks of meat, mushroom and some veggie being cooked in an aromatic broth. I Can't wait to have my fill but its still being cooked. I wonder how long it will take? I know the food must be really hot but it's tempting me a lot. Shall I pick out a small meat piece?
My patience fought a hard battle against the great demons of hunger, greed and delicious food. Alas, the battle resulted in a thrashing defeat and my hands gradually moved towards the pot.
"Hold your horses man, I am yet to add one last ingredient", a voice echoed. A man came rushing in and swayed my hand aside.I kept staring while he added some nuts to the pot. The light from the fire, lit up his face. I don't remember anything of my past. Hence, I wondered if I am into men because he looked so alluring! I stood their, stunned until he turned to me and spoke with a gentle smile, "Hope you are feeling better now. The name's Vaneth."
