Okay, my two commenters and voters each want two seperate things.....so I will try not to cuss as much as before, okay?? hee hee love you guys. <3 Tell me and vote if you like it!

I wasn't sure of the best way to do this. Hey Aunt Emily, how are you? What guy behind me? Oh this guy? Well, actually, it's funny that you should ask. I rolled my eyes. Yeah, smooth.

We both heard Aunt Emily step onto the porch. Jasper was completely relaxed on the couch behind me, while I nervously cowered in front of the door. Douchebag.

Aunt Emily's key rattled in the lock. Slowly, I turned the doorknob and let her in.

"Cassie! Well I'm glad to see that you're to the point where you can open doors without thinking some killer is going to run inside," she said cheerily as she pushed through with her bags.

Please shut up, I mentally willed her, intensely aware of Jasper's amusement behind me.

"Oh my," I heard Aunt Emily exclaim.

"Yeah. Ummm, Jasper, why don't you take this one? You explain it so well," I said, leaving the room before either of them could protest.

I cleaned up my room while I waited for them to finish talking. I knew Jasper would be able to handle the situation with ease, even when you factored in Aunt Emily's tendency to overreact. The lamp I had thrown at Jasper had shattered in the hallway, so I ducked into the bathroom and grabbed a broom and dustpan. All the while, I kept an ear open for raised voices.

I was dumping the pieces into the trashcan when I heard his deep voice behind me. "Emily took the news much better than you did."

"Yikes!' I spun around. "Stop doing that," I snapped, narrowing my eyes at him.

"She didn't faint, scream, or go into denial. And she wants to talk to you," he said, ignoring my comment.

I stomped past him into the living room where Aunt Emily was sitting on the couch, looking remarkably calm. I sat down next to her and flinched when she pulled me into a hug. "Jasper told me what's happening," she said sternly.

"Yeah..." I said, taking a deep breath.

"Though I don't appreciate you planning this trip without telling me, I think it's sweet that you two want to go back to Nevada to visit Jasper's family," she said.

"What?"

"You don't have to worry, he told me everything. His family knew yours distantly, so he came all of this way because he knew how much you would enjoy the trip."

"Uh.....yeah."

"Why didn't you tell me you were talking to someone? I wouldn't have been so hard on you if I had known you and Jasper have been keeping in touch," she admonished lightly.

I shrugged numbly. What the hell was going on? I darted a glance at Jasper, who was leaning against the doorway casually, watching the scene before him with an amused expression. He had told Aunt Emily something, then purposefully didn't tell me. I glared at him with all of the ferocity I could muster. I could handle this, with ease.

"I didn't think you would approve of me talking to some guy you've never met," I admitted sheepishly. Whoa! That sounded almost sincere!  I had never been able to lie convincingly before.

"Well, an old friend is different, sweetheart," she told me.

"Okay. Sorry," I smiled shyly at her.
