it was a fairly normal day for the maknae of stray kids, most of the members were doing their own schedules, so he had recorded in the morning with seungmin, then done dance practice before lunch with minho and felix, then he had gone out and gotten lunch on his own, and now he was back in the dorms in his room, trying to come up with some lyrics to help chan out since the leader had been pushing himself to write up a lot of new songs and jeongin had felt bad that he was doing it on his own.

the trouble was, lyrics didn't come naturally to him as they did to chan, so it took jeongin so much longer to write than everyone else, which wouldn't have been a problem if he had a long time to write, unfortunately for him, chan wanted the lyrics before 5 pm so he could check it over, the time currently was 2.30 pm, so he didn't have as much time as he would have liked.

by the time it was 4.30, the maknae only had half a song written, but it was too late to do anymore as he had to go and give chan the lyrics.

as he was getting ready to leave, to say he was nervous was an understatement, he was absolutely terrified of how the leader would react to his half-finished song and tried to take his time walking to the studio, but he knew the time to face chan would come eventually, there was no avoiding it...unless.

suddenly jeongin had an idea, he was going to fake being ill so chan wouldn't get angry at him, he thought a lot about how he would pull it off, and decided that he would go to chan's studio and pretend to pass out when he got there, yeah, that should work.

his plan seemed like an amazing idea in his head, it wasn't that he was normally scared of chan, he was only scared because the leader had been stressed over writing lyrics and jeongin knew that him turning up to chan's studio with a half-finished song would make chan flip out at him, so in his mind faking being ill was the only option, although it wasn't the smartest, what else could he do?

as he arrived at the studio, he made sure his face looked like he was in pain to make it more believable and walked down the corridor to chan's studio slowly so anyone passing by would see that he wasn't feeling right.

he knocked on chan's studio door and heard "come in innie" from inside, he took a deep breath and opened the door

"hey do you....what's wrong?" chan asked, getting up from his seat

"i..." before jeongin could finish, he let himself fall to the floor, trying to make it as believable as he could, he hit the floor quite hard, accidentally smacking the side of his face against the wooden floor, but he couldn't move now or it would ruin his plan.

"INNIE!" the leader shouted, running over to the poor boy

jeongin felt himself being rolled over and his face being lightly touched. he fluttered his eyes open and groaned

"oh my god, are you okay innie" chan asked panicky, helping jeongin sit up slightly

"my...face" jeongin said, he was telling the truth, the side of his face was in agony from smacking it against the wooden floor

"okay, is that it?" the leader asked, checking the younger over, making sure there weren't any other injuries

"yeah" he said, not trusting himself enough to speak more incase he started crying

"alright, do you think you need to go to the hospital or do you think you're fine?"

"i..think i'm f-fine" the younger replied, not wanting to cause chan any more inconvenience than he had already

"right, you should at least stay here with me so that i can keep an eye on you okay" chan said, not really giving the boy any other option

"okay"

the leader led him over to the small sofa and led him on it, making sure his head was still propped up enough.

to say jeongin felt bad was an understatement, he hadn't meant to take it this far, he was only planning on falling over and then going back to the dorm, but here he was, led on chan's sofa, his head pounding with a stressed chan staring at him. everything was just to much for the poor maknae, who then burst out crying.

"innie, it's okay bubs!" chan said, hugging him the best he could with the position jeongin was in

but that action only made jeongin cry more, the guilt fully consuming his mind.

"innie, tell me what's wrong" chan said, soothingly, still hugging the younger

"i-..i" jeongin tried to explain but the words wouldn't come out

"shhh it's okay, take your time"

"i..didn't finish the lyrics.." jeongin started to say

"awh, it's okay, you were ill and-"

"no! i..i mean..i didn't finish them in time..and i was scared of what you'd think...so i thought i could pretend to faint....to get out of it...but..but i fell to hard....and now i'm just wasting your time!" jeongin burst into tears once again

he waited for chan to scold him or tell him off, but he didn't. instead chan hugged the boy harder

"oh innie" he said sympethetically "do you want to go back to the dorms?"

jeongin quickly shook his head, not wanting to use up any more of chan's time, but chan chuckled and helped the younger to his feet

"it's okay. i'm finished now, see?" he stood and turned his computer so that jeongin could see the finished lyrics "let's go home eh?"

(sorry that this took me so long to write, i'm not making excuses, as always i was just to lazy haha. also, this chapter is very shit but just bear with me lmao)
