~hyunjin pov~

we are waiting to go onstage to potentially win an award for our newest comeback, and everyone is with hannie, helping him through a panic attack. don't get me wrong, i always feel so bad for him with his anxiety and panic attacks, they get especially bad before big shows like this and it always makes me so sad seeing him have to go through that every time, but it sometimes makes me feel annoyed since they only ever worry about hannie, and don't realise when i'm feeling anxious or when i'm in need of some support.

that sounds really selfish right, and i feel really bad for thinking like this, but sometimes i also need some help, and they're always completely focused on hannie all the time.

well i am also feeling extremely nervous, because if we win we'll have to sing, and my voice hasn't been up to it's usual standards, i've been having so many voice cracks and i can't get the vocal range i usually can, which is a massive issue because stay are watching and if i mess up they'll think bad about me and it'll be really embarrassing, they'll post online about it and it'll be all over the internet, then i'll be kicked out of the group and...

~3rd person pov~

hyunjin's bad thoughts kept getting louder and louder, and he didn't notice his breathing getting heavier and heavier, to the point that he was hyperventilating.
but no one noticed, jisung had just had a panic attack so everyone was focused on helping him. they didn't notice hyunjin, who at that point was having a full-blown panic attack.

eventually, when jisung had calmed down and everyone was sure he was okay, they finally noticed hyunjin, who was stood facing them, his eyes had a distant look and his chest was moving up and down at a fast pace, much faster than it should have been.

"hey hyunjin?" chan called the boy,

getting no response he decided to go closer to him, that's when he heard hyunjin's irregular breathing and noticed that his body was shaking slightly.

"guys i think he's having a panic attack?" chan said, half questioningly since jisung's panic attacks were never anything like this.

"shit okay, what do we do?" changbin asked, not knowing what to do since hyunjin was just stood staring blankly into space

"uhh i don't know sung's panic attacks aren't ever like this!" chan said, starting to panic slightly

it was jisung who first went up to the boy
"hey jinnie, can you hear me?" he said, dropping honourifics because this was so much more important
"come on jinnie, i know you can hear me, i need you to breathe for me okay?" jisung said, speaking softly yet still loud enough for hyunjin to hear.

"jinnie, listen to jisung okay, breathe for us baby" chan, who had stopped panicking, said softly

eventually hyunjin started breathing normally again, then he lent over and coughed, signalling to the boys that he was okay
everyone let out a sigh of relief, they thought hyunjin was going to stay in that distant state for ages

"do you want to tell us what happened?" chan asked, rubbing the boys back to help him breathe properly
hyunjin shook his head quickly, not wanting to reveal the true reason behind his panic

"are you sure? we won't judge you jinnie" jisung tried to reason with him, but hyunjin still shook his head

"okay, but you'll tell us later alright?" chan said
hyunjin reluctantly agreed, knowing he wouldn't be able to keep it to himself for that long

"guys we were meant to go on stage 5 minutes ago!" minho said
"don't worry, i already cancelled that, we should go home and talk as a group!" felix said

"thank you lix" chan said, smiling at the younger aussie
"no problem, i had a feeling hyunjin wouldn't be up to performing after that" felix said, smiling at hyunjin to reassure him that they really didn't mind postponing their potential win for him.

"let's go home guys" chan said
