MISSION: Smile

After miles of walking for days maybe weeks Atreus and the kids decide to stop. Really it was because of the kids getting tired like always which Atreus could not argue, he was more suited compare to kids. Where they are though was in the middle of know where all that can be seen is cars and the vast endless road meant to bring them to their destination.

Sera: Seraphine's all wuhkt out.

Atreus: I know just take a rest here it's ok.

All sat on the road side as Atreus gave them a bottle of water to share. Honestly even with the danger the place was rather quite and calming, mother nature taking back what was once hers with the road cracked and filled with plant life and small puddle of water. The forest beside reaching in as the sound of wind and birds can be heard truly a quiet place.
The girls drinking the water was all up until it was gone leave not a single drop once they gave it back to Atreus as they smiled not knowing what wrong they done to him to make him give eye.

Atreus: Hm, Couldn't leave some for me?

Kids: S-sorwy.

Atreus: It's ok. It's ok.

Ahri: Dad can I ask you something?

Atreus: Huh? Sure.

Ahri: Why are you always grumpy?

Atreus looked at her shock. He was beyond shock really but just stayed quiet before speaking back.

Atreus: Why you ask?

Ahri: Cause Daddy never smiles.

Atreus: Do I now?

Ahri: Mhm, mowst of the time Daddy is sad looking or angrwe.

Atreus: Well, ... I just went through some things. Things that forced me to stop smiling.

Sera: Would us make you happy?

Atreus looked up confused cause he wasn't able to hear what Seraphine had said.

Sera: If famuhlee is with daddy would daddy smile to us?

Atreus: Why?

Sera: Cause we want daddy to be happy as well! Daddy not happy we no happy.

Atreus looked at the four of the five as they gave a somewhat cute determine face. Really he was more touch that they said that cause the last time he felt this was almost years ago. The memories of old came flocking in as they remind him of his comrades back then, the idiots that he fought with, well they are his idiots.

Atreus: <Smile> Sure, if your happy then I'm happy.

The kids being cheerful as they see Atreus for once smile. This for the kids is something special but for everyone else, this was once in a blue moon. A moment that was thought to be lost years ago yet now a bright light returned. After witnessing such event the group continued forward to before reaching a stop point being a car since it was night.
Atreus sat in the front as the kids sleep in the back seats, he has never felt this before as he watches them. A feeling that he though was lost came back as he sat the before looking out the driver window staring at the moon.

Atreus: How it up there Graves?

He spoke to the moon as he held his desert eagle in hand.

Atreus: You good up there mate? The guys bullying you again? Heh, or you just losing bets to Darius again? .... Whatever it is, I ... I hope your doing fine, I also hope the others are doing fine.

He then leaned he head down as he lowered the gun down before caressing the it.

Atreus: Tell her I'm doing fine brother, tell the others too ...... Oh and also fuck you ..... And thanks for the blessings behind me.

He then turned back staring at those so called blessing before closing eyes and going to sleep himself. There's still a long journey up ahead and there is not time to waste, winter is coming soon.
