chapter 4

Kina's POV
I rushed out of the classroom to the cafeteria to look for Jenny, I had to tell her everything that happened. I spotted her at our usual table and rushed over to her. She did not even let mesitylene before attacking me with questions.
"So Jason huh?" She asked in a funny tone.
"Oh zip it" I answered.
"Just tell me already, what did he want?"
"Ok fine" I said rolling my eyes at how childish she is being right now. I told her everything, from the ride till today at my locker.
"He said he was gonna pick me up after school"
"Damn girl, you've got yaself one right there, he has an eye for you Kiki"
I rolled my eyes because that cannot be possible cause he is into Janice right?
It was Friday so we had the weekend to catch up. Class ended real quick. I went to the school's parking lot to wait for Jen even though Jason said he was gonna give a ride. I couldn't count on him.
After an hour, my phone beeped. It was a text message from Jenny.

"Had to run home early, sorry for not telling you that earlier. Jason offered to give you a ride home right? Please catch the ride with him. Sorry. Love ya.
- Jen".

"Okay nevermind but you will have to explain to me later
- kiki"

Jason arrived as soon as I hit the send button on my phone. I caught a ride with him but we did not use the normal route.
"Ummm where are we going Jason?"
"To show you my favourite place and to show you that I am not as bad as I seem"
" Why would you do that we are not even friends"
"I know and I'd like to change that"
" You mean you wanna be my friend?"
"Yeah".
We pulled up in a street unknown to me but he seemed too familiar, I guess it was his favourite place for a reason. We climbed out of the car and he urged me to follow him. We took a rocky path which led us to a little mountain.
"Why did you bring me Jason?"
"No reason, I just needed to think, since you have no ride home  I decided you could tag along"
"You could have dropped me at my house ya know"
"I know kina"

We stood in comfortable silence for awhile and enjoying the view
"Should get you back home"
"Yeah, you should"
"I want you to come over to my house to help me tomorrow"
"And why would I do that"
"I just need your help with math that's all"
"Say please"
"Umm no kina"
"Suit yourself. Then my answer is stern no"
"Come on"
"Say please or I won't change my mind".
"Okay whatever please would you help me with math"
The sacarsim in his tone was annoying but I got him to say please so it worked for me whether he meant it or not.
"Okay fine, I will help you but I would have to talk to my mom about it first".
"Don't worry I will handle that part. Just give me your number and I will text you when you should come over"
"555-9632810"
"Ok cool".

I got home around 6 pm more happier than expected. As we were having dinner, the door bell rang.
"I'll get it, finish your dinner"
"Ok mom"
"Kina!!"
"Yeah"
"Someone is here to see you"
"Ummm you sure mom?".
I was halfway down with my food and had to put a stop to it to check who was disturbing my peace.
"Actually, ms. Williams, I am kinda here to see you instead"
"To what do I owe this visit?"
"My name is Jason and I live a couple blocks away, I am in the same school with kina and I wanted her to help me out."
"Help you out with what?"
"Well I wanted her to tutor me. I kinda need help with math. So I wanted to ask your permission first"
"Moooom! Who is...."
"Well he says he wants you to tutor him, wanna do it?"
I glanced over at Jason and he had the please say yes look on his face.

"Okay I will"
"Thank you ms. Williams for your consent"
"Yeah sure but be good with her".
"Thank you for agreeing to help me I will text you when am free kina"
"Yeah sure".

"Thanks again, would like you to come Monday after class so we can start if that's ok with you.
- Jason"
My phone beeped checking it, it was a message from Jason. I went through the message and decided to reply

"That's okay with me, only if you pick me up after class whenever we have lessons
- kina"

"You got ya self a deal Kitten
- Jason"

" Where did that kitten come from?
- kina"

"Well I decided to give you a nickname since Jen has one for you
- Jason"

"Ummmm don't call me that, you have not being given that mandate
- kina"

"Sorry just thought you would like it
- Jason"

"Sorry if I sounded rude
- kina"

" Oh no it is okay kitten
- Jason"
"Shit am sorry kina
- Jason"

"No it is okay. You good, you can call me that but not Infront of anybody
- kina"

"Okay , thank you kina
- Jason"
"Goodnight kitten
- Jason"

"Goodnight Jason
- kina".
I placed my phone on the counter and turned out my lights so I can sleep. I had a lot on my mind that night

What is going on? Why did Jason choose me of all people. Why me? Does he have any other motives.

I drifted into sleep without even noticing.
