"U-Um... You know... You know Dickie?" The teen who held Greyson's young face, seemed very shy in front of the older man, quickly moving from the door to let him in.
The older male nodded, giving the boy a sweet smile as he walked in. He handed the young looking teen fresh pajama's, Dick's old clothes to be more precise.
"You should change into these." The butler then looked at the thrown clothes on the ground and shook his head with a sigh. "Master Dick needs to learn to think ahead." He said this loudly, wanting the teen to hear him.
Yes, he knew they were still in the room. He has lived and raised almost all of the Bats, of course he was going to know they were hiding in the shadows.
Danny bit his lip to contain the small laugh that bubbled in his chest. However, knowing that it was Dick who had undressed him, that made him feel somewhat better. That meant it wasn't some stranger looking at him.
"Why don't you go clean yourself up and I go find Master Dick for you? Afterwards, I can bring you something to eat."
The exhausted teen nodded, shuffling back to the bathroom, closing the door behind him. The group waited till they could hear the water running before the Martian revealed everyone. Dick quickly was by the cleaning Butler's side.
"Did you-"
"The first thing I noticed... And the boy hasn't eaten in weeks." The old man mumbled, a concerned look on his face. "His body must be running on fumes at this point..."
"What do you mean he hasn't eaten in weeks?" Dick hissed, worry crossing his face.
Alfred paused from picking up one of the boy's socks before sighing heavily. The old man straightened his back as he gave the younger a firm look.
"I could see his ribs far too easily. Plus, he swayed and slurred his speech. Furthermore, his eyes lit up at the mention of food..." The butler shook his head with a weary sigh.
The first Robin hissed a little, pain in his chest. What had those damn people been doing to his Danny?
Suddenly, there was a warm hand on the Robin's shoulder, lightly squeezing it. The blue-eyed man took a deep breath, squeezing his eyes closed before relaxing himself. He didn't know the situation. He shouldn't get too angry just yet.
He then looked to his friends, giving them a small smile. He didn't need to say or think a word before they all left, leaving only him, Alfred, and Bruce. Soon, the butler gave a polite bow and left with the dirty clothes and a mission to get the boy some food to eat.
Dick soon found himself sitting on his brother's bed, waiting for him to get out of the damn shower. He looked to Bruce, questions floating through his mind, yet the older man didn't really get any chance to respond to the silent questions as the door to the bathroom finally opened.
Danny didn't need to take long showers, but this time he took one a little longer than usual. He took icy cold showers whenever he woke from a nightmare, though. He learned that it helped calm and stabilize him. Before he lived with Vald, he wondered why, but felt took afirad to ask his-the Fentons abiut it. Some of it might even have been biased anyway. However, the Fruitloop told him that since he had an Ice Core, being cold helped calm him. Like being surrounded by the people he cares deeply about or protecting someone. Still, the young adult was glad to know that, because he really needed to calm down, and Bruce seemed to have the coldest waters he knows of! Like seriously, it felt like he was being pelted by liquid ice! It was wonderful!
Once he was finally done and dried, the regular way, he dressed himself in some clothes. Clothes that smelled a little like Dickie. He didn't know how he knew it was his twin's scent, but he did. He took a small breath of it before he finally felt calm enough to finally step out and ask the butler about his brother.
Of course, his brother had to be waiting for him on his bed... With a strange black-haired man that could've easily been their father. The two looked to him before giving a soft smile. A chill went up the halfa's spine. Not because they were smiling, but because something told him that he was going to have a long night... And his instincts were rarely ever wrong.
