Danny made a face as he pulled at the collar of the button up shirt, which was part of the uniform that Gotham Academy had. It just made his body feel all weird and itchy even though the fabric was extremely soft.
It's probably something to do with his ghost half, or him not used to uniforms or suits. It didn't matter at this moment! Which he was reminded of as a heavy knock sounded on his door.
Danny's body naturally tensed before he sighed lowly. He was safe. No one in the manor has tried to attack or killed him. He really should get his responses in check before he accidently hurts someone.
Opening the door, he gave a broad smile to his brother.
"I take it we're leaving?"
Dick snorted, wrapping an arm around his brother shoulders.
"Don't worry about that. Alfred knows plenty of shortcuts." He gave him a wink at that.
The twins made their way to the dining hall where the others were already starting on their own breakfast. The room had a light buzz of conversation, laughter drifting from phones and tablets, scoffs and snorts from the people looking at those phones and tablets. And there were more people than Danny had seen since he first arrived.
"Hey, finally you show up!" A girl with sunny blond hair chided, wrinkling her nose.
Her words caused a dull in the noise, everyone glancing up to them. Duke sat up straighter, his lips thinning as his eyes scanned the air around the twins. He then leaned to his side, whispering something to a half-asleep Tim. Whatever he said had Tim now looking at Danny with calculating eyes.
A sharp tingle of danger struck at the halfa's core, making his eyes shoot from Tim and Duke to a dark-haired woman who looked about a year or so younger than him and Dickie. Her dark eyes were cold and sharp, examining him up and down. She was dangerous. Honestly, he doubted he needed to be part ghost to know this. However, she seemed... Was soft the right word?
"Hi... I don't think we met?" He moved to her side, leaving his brother to find his own seat.
She tilted her head a little before beginning to sign.
'Hello. I'm Cassandra. Who are you?'
"I'm Danny Fen-Greyson, Dickie's twin... Though he's taller." Danny smiled a little, his hands naturally began to sign to her as he spoke.
She looked surprised, blinking a little.
'You sign?'
He blinked, looking down at his hands. He then flushed a bright red, giving her a sheepish grin.
"I have some friends around Amity that don't exactly speak. Some of them don't actually have tongues or mouths." His ears turned a bit red as he clamped his mouth shut. He really shouldn't be telling someone that.
She blinked at him owlishly, but then she smiled. She motioned to the surprisingly empty seat. The table had seemed so full just a moment ago. He smiled more naturally to her, sitting next to her.
Being so close to her, he suddenly realized why she had felt soft. She was just like him. Dangerous, but protective. The way she looked around the room was as if she was analyzing for any threats, safety routes out of the room; everything that he began to do when the ghost attacks began more frequent.
The Halfa's core thrummed in comradery, almost reaching out to feel a friend. Her eyes looked to him, her brows twitching in a furrowed look. IT was as if she could feel his core, so he forcibly pulled back the reaching and gave her a smile.
