Taehyung was ignoring the butterflies in his stomach as he waited for the younger. It was nerve wracking really which was why he already ordered two cakes. One was for Jungkook, of course, and he only stared at the cake in front of him.

It had been half an hour already when Taehyung felt hungry after frantically checking his phone. So he ate the cake that he had ordered and tried to ignore the pitying looks of the waiter after he asked for another one when another half an house passed.

His phone was completely silent and the messages he had left Jungkook were all delivered. He didn't see any of them, and didn't even bother to read them. Taehyung's butterflies seemed to die a bit when the hour passed and the night was starting to grow.

He played with his drink as he sipped on his drink and ignoring the way his heart was hurting a bit more as the minutes passed.

He just kept thinking that Jungkook was running late. There must have been something that came up. Maybe something with his parents? Maybe they were forbidding him to go anywhere? Because Jungkook definitely wouldn't stand him up this time, would he?

Is your friend still on his way?" The waiter asked him and Taehyung felt embarrassed just by seeing the look the man gave him.

Two hours, two hours had passed by.

"He's just a little late." Taehyung said, "I'm sorry, but can you take this cake to go just in case?"

The man gave a pitying smile, "Of course."

Taehyung texted Jungkook one last time before looking out the window and watching as the sun set. His heart clenched in his chest as the belief he had in the man was slowly dissipating. He bit down on his lip as he tried to hold in the tears of humiliation and anger in.

"Sir?"

"Check, please." Taehyung tried to hide the hurt in his voice.
