𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝘽𝙀𝘼𝘾𝙃 𝙒𝘼𝙎 𝘼 𝙎𝘼𝙁𝙀 𝙃𝘼𝙑𝙀𝙉 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝘼𝙋𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙊 𝘾𝘼𝙇𝘿𝙀𝙍. The waves crashing on the the shore while the sun set. It gave Ollie a sense of peace, an escape from the hellshow he called his life.

Ollie's life was already a wreck before the dead began to rise. He spent most of his days right where he was, on the beach drawing to his hearts content. Granted his drawings weren't very good but it helped him see the beauty in something ugly. He only wished his father saw things the same way he did.

His father was a stickler for the old fashion ━━━ if you could make money doing it, find a better hobby ━━ that's what his father used to say. Him and his father never really got along, but it got worse when his mother got sick and eventually died.

"Ollie Calder ! "

The sudden voice startled him and made him snap his head up. "Is that a frown I see?" the person wound around him to stand in front of him. Ollie raised his hand to shield his eyes from her sun. "I'm not frowning," he answered, monotonously.

The person bent down to sit on their knees, finally giving him a view of who it was. The sun framed her figure and it made her look absolutely angelic. Cassandra Lewis was an angel sent from heaven.

Ollie began to blush severely when he noticed her waving a hand in front of his face. "What did you say?" he mumbled.

"I said, that your frown lines were beginning to become permanent," Cassandra repeated. "Oh, right," Ollie subconsciously reached towards his face as if to rub away the frown lines.

"What's got you so down in the dump?" she asked, brushing her bangs from her eyes. Ollie shrugged ━━━ like I said, barely two words. "You have a fight with you dad again?" Cassandra asked, hesitantly. She knew he didn't like to talk about.

Ollie and Cassandra had been neighbors since third grade and it was hard for Cassandra to block out the yelling from the house over ━━━ and it always made her stomach twist to see Ollie enter his room with tears in his eyes ❪ Ollie's window was directly across from Cassandra's ❫.

He looked down, Cassandra could tell he didn't want to answer the question so she moved on. "What are you drawing?" her question was simple, but to Ollie it was like a AP Calculus problem. He slammed his sketch book closed, he didn't want her to see the picture of her that he had drawn.

"Nothing, there's not much to draw out here," Ollie scrambled, looking anywhere but the girl in front of him. "Draw me," she offered. "What?" he was flabbergasted, choking on air.

"Draw me, I'll even do a pose," Cassandra offered once more, backing away slightly to pose. "Ok," Ollie agreed, his heart racing a million miles a minute.

Ollie had been drawing for the past ten minutes when Cassandra fell out of her pose and laid in the sand. "How's it look? Does it look like me?"

     "It's looks....great."
     "Oh ! I wanna see."

"It's not the greatest," Ollie spoke, being cut off when she gripped the book and pulled it out of his hands. "Why do I have a beard?" a smile on her lips.

"It's not a beard. It's — it's shading. That's shading," Ollie answered. "My head is so large," she said. "You have a big head," Ollie stated, bluntly, "God, no you don't. Your head is a perfect shape." In this moment, Ollie wished a hole would open and swallow him whole.

"I freakin love it, it's beautiful," she whispered. Ollie began to shake his head. He knew the only reason she was saying that was it make him feel better. His denial was cut short when Cassandra pulled him in for a hug.

"Cassandra Lewis ! " the girl pulled a away from Ollie so fast it was as if he was made of fire, hot to the touch. "Come on, we're leaving," it was Cassandra's mother.

Ollie stood chasing after the blonde. "Mrs. Lewis, what's going on?" Ollie asked frantic, noticing the trunk full of the Lewis's belongings. "Haven't you heard about the virus? We're going to the CDC in Atlanta. If you and you father know what's best, you'll go too."

And with that, Cassandra was guided to the backseat, drawing in hand.
