*Just a random bit of inspiration that I may turn into a story?*
"Mum are you ready to leave?!" I yell up the stairs.
"Yes I will be down in a minute"
I sigh and walk towards the door. Yeah right, I think, just two minutes. More like 5 minutes!Eventually, we pull out of the drive way and head off to training.
"It is Tuesday today so I think we are training on track." I say. "It'll be nice to get some training in for track season coming up."
"Yes, that would be nice." Mum said.I jump out of the car and spot my friends waiting by the tree. I run over and shout Boo! Before swinging around and joining in their conversation.
"Hey! What are you talking about?" I ask
"Nothing much." Says Amber. Amber is a year older than me but we are all close friends. " We are on track today Brian said."
"Yesssss! I hoped we would be!"I repliedAs we walk into the track we walk over and put our drinks and any jackets near the fence and then change into our track spikes. When we are all done we have to go and do some warm up laps. We all groan jokingly claiming that it is boiling and we are already warm! As we head around the track we are talking about school. It is the Summer holidays and me and my friend Lizzie are starting Secondary school after the break.
"Where are you going Lizzie?" Amber asks
"Leafville" says Lizzie. It is the local school that more than half of our primary school go to.
"How about you Emma?"
"Oh I am going to the Rose Hill Grammar School." I reply. After, we are set doings some times 1k. I groan, I am more of an 800m runner but it should get my fitness up by doing longer races.

I like up on the start line staring round the bend as I anticipate the shrill whistle that pierces my concentration. As soon as I hear it, I am off like a bullet. I pump my arms and keep my stride length short but with high cadence. As I round the bend and reach the first 100m mark I settle into a comfortable rhythm. I focus on my first lap; I want it to be a fast lap. As I reach the next 100m mark I put in a burst of speed again 'in order to keep the pace you must increase it at certain intervals'. As I pass the start line for the first time I lengthen my stride length and increase my cadence. I focus on my breathing as I round the 600m mark. 'in through my nose, out through my mouth' "I can do this". As I pass the 800m mark I am at a comfortable time 2:55. My legs are aching but I push myself for the last 200m. I pump my arms and shorten my stride length. As I cross the line I have a comfortable time of 3m 38s. I am happy with that. I immediately concentrate on getting my breathing back under control as I walk back to my coach in the other side of the track.

We do two more 1k's but they were slower around the 4minute mark. After that we ran an 800m and I ran it around 3 minutes which I was disappointed in because I was tired and could usually run faster and it was the end of training. As we walked back to the tree I asked "Who is coming on Thursday?"
Everyone said that they would be coming and then we all went home exhausted and hungry. When I got home I ran upstairs to have a shower and got changed into my pj's and then came downstairs to have tea with my family.
"How was Athletics?" My sister Bonny asked.
"Oh it was good" I said. " Although Brian worked us quite hard!"
"What did you do?" asked my other sister Sophia
"Just some 1k's and then an 800. Oh I got a new PB for my 1k I got 3m 38!"
