The cursed hero

Chapter 5

Izuku had aced the written exam, and Kaminari was pretty sure he did pretty well.

Right now he was sitting in between Bakugo and Kaminari, with Kaminari glaring at Bakugo who was uncomfortable from the intensity of that glare.

"What's your problem extra?" asked Bakugo as Kaminari just scoffed.

"Maybe the fact that you've got flaming trash as your personality and you bullied Mido," said Kaminari, and Bakugo's expression dropped as he became more serious.

"Listen dunce face, and you too Deku. I... I am s-sorry..." stuttered Bakugo struggling with his apology, as Izuku's mouth was wide open and Kaminari looked confused.

"Wait what?"

"I'm sorry about that nerd, alright! I was wrong, and I am probably more unheroic than many villains, I get it alright!" Bakugo said struggling with his words.

"But that doesn't mean I won't try to become a hero. I know what I did wrong and I'm trying to do better. Just... I'll change at my own pace."

(Now for those who think this is too calm for Bakugo and too OOC, think about it. Unlike the Anime, Bakugo realized the stuff during the sludge villain incident and he's had a lot of time, 10 months to be precise to think over all that he did and change, so it isn't too sudden or something)

Izuku and Kaminari were now both gaping like fishes, missing the whole of the speech Present Mic had given.

As they checked their cards to see the testing ground, Izuku noted that the three had different grounds.

"Maybe it's to separate people from the same schools so friends can't help each other," noted Bakugo as he saw a classmate of theirs talking to someone, most likely his friend about how they were in two different fields with him on the ground C.

As they noted the reactions of others, a blue-haired boy raised his hand and Present Mic told him to stand up.

"On the printout, there are four types of villains. If this is a misprint, UA, the most prominent school in Japan should be ashamed of that foolish mistake. We, examinees, are here today because we wish to be molded into exemplary heroes.

 And you three, stop talking and staring around. If you aren't serious about the exam you should leave instead of disturbing others," the person said as all three started fuming. However before Bakugo or Kaminari could say anything, Izuku stood up.

"Maybe you should put those glasses at use and actually go through the printout. It clearly states that the fourth robot is a ZERO POINTER WITH NO COMPETITIVE VALUE, i.e., it DOES NOT GIVE YOU ANY POINTS, MEANING IT IS AN OBSTACLE and Present Mic was explaining the scoring system and the villains, not the types of robots we'll encounter as listed in the printout. Instead of being a faux villain, the fourth robot is more of a hurdle so it would have been explained separately. So kindly sit back down and focus on the Printout rather than sticking your leg in other people's business who are more aware than you about what's happening and breaking Present Mic's flow and disturbing others," said Izuku in a sickly sweet tone which struck terror in everyone's heart, other than a few people who looked at him in awe and Present Mic who looked at him, impressed.

"And also, an exemplary hero is less stuck up on stuff like printing mistakes and more focused on saving people. you want to become an exemplary hero then get your priorities right. You can fuss over paperwork as an accountant or secretary."

"R-right! Sorry," said the blue-haired person as he sat down, embarrassed.

"Alright, you're right Examinee 2234, though a little harsh. The fourth Robot is not a Faux, it's an obstacle that will reward you no points even if you defeat it. So it's suggested that you avoid it," Present Mic said as Izuku smiled.

"Thank you P-Present Mic. C-could you l-later give me your autograph?" Izuku asked as his nervous fanboy self kicked in which almost everyone, especially the girls found cute. Though they sweatdropped at the sudden change of attitude.

"OF COURSE YOUNG LISTENER! HERE'S A DEAL, PASS IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM AND I'LL GET YOU AUTOGRAPH OF ONE MORE HERO ALONG WITH ME, THE CHOICE WILL BE YOURS!" said Present Mic excitedly as Izuku almost instantly yelled Hawks.

"Ah, a Hawks fan I see. Anyways, so the exam will go on like..." said Present Mic as he continued to explain the exam.

"Ne-" Bakugo started only to stop, scared as Izuku's neck almost snapped right towards him.

"Listen Kacchan, now I am more motivated than ever to top the Exam, so better gear up." Izuku said in a scary tone which made Kaminari and bakugo shudder and others who heard him almost shit in their pants. Not everyone though. Many girls and some guys were starting to develop some interest in him, especially one Ochako Uraraka.

Izuku was now in front of his Exam Ground when he saw Ochako standing there fiddling nervously.

Izuku started to walk towards her when the blue-haired guy from before interrupted.

"Hello, I am sorry for accusing you earlier," Iida said in a stiff tone as Izuku sweatdropped.

"No problem, just don't go judging people without knowing them. Sometimes even heroes are evil and sometimes even villains are good. It's up to the heroes to help the right people. Anyways, I saw someone so I'll just go," Izuku said as he approached Ochako Uraraka.

"Hey miss," Izuku greeted as Ochako turned to him. 

"Oh, the savage falling guy who scared everyone," Ochako said with a giggle as Izuku chuckled.

"Ah, my name's Izuku Midoriya," he said with a smile.

"Right, I'm Ochako Uraraka, nice to meet you," she replied with a close-eyed smile and Izuku had a mini heart attack.

"R-right, you seemed nervous," Izuku said with a slight stutter.

"Yeah, and thanks to you, I don't feel that nervous anymore," she said as Izuku smiled.

"Glad I could help you. I hope you pass the test, I really want to be in the same class as you," Izuku said as Ochako blushed a little.

"R-right," she replied with a bright smile.

"Okay, let's get ready now, Present Mic is pretty unpredictable."

"OKAY START!" came a yell as the gates opened, and Izuku using his Cursed Energy shot towards the first robot he could see, smashing its head in the ground.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL WAITING FOR? THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS IN REAL LIFE!"

Everyone just stared at the announcer Present Mic standing on a wall.

"WHAT? RUN RUN! THE DIE HAS BEEN CAST, YOU KNOW!"
