Now, the noble Prince Musica had sharp cat-like hearing, for he and Lady BlueMeow—though not sharing the same abilities—shared the same feline features. Prince Musica's high status, in addition, made his powers even more powerful than a lord's or lady's. And it was due to this advanced power that Illegalist chose the dear prince to be his next victim.

There was only one problem in his plan to capture Prince Musica, however. Illegalist's dark magic could not easily render Musica unconscious, for it required an immense increase of power. Nonetheless, Illegalist thought to himself, he could not afford to lose the prince. With that in mind, he sent out a larger flash of his magic, willing it to work.

Musica's sharp ears quickly picked up the buzz in the air and he lashed around, meeting the attack head-on. "Who's there?" he bellowed, his roar sweeping through the walls of the estate and chilling Illegalist to the bone. The evil figure shook off the shock and concentrated on the dark beam of magic.

To Illegalist's surprise and pleasure, Musica immediately fell unconscious and was briskly teleported to his lair.

BlueMeow paused her attempts to break the cage open at the sudden appearance of the young prince. "Musica!" she called, sticking her head out as far as possible. Although fearing for his safety, she was slightly disappointed that he'd been sent to a different cell.

Musica quickly woke up and shook himself off. He peered at BlueMeow. "BlueMeow? Where...." He turned in a circle. "Where are we?"

"You're hurt, Musica," BlueMeow said pointedly, jabbing a paw out to point at his mangled ear.

"It's fine," Musica muttered. Being the magical aristocat he was, of course, he began to heal himself. For some reason, his ears seemed numb.

"Oh, so he hasn't taken our healing abilities?" BlueMeow said, frowning. She dabbed at a scratch on her tail. "Oh. Nice."

Musica blinked. "He's taken our powers from us?" he mumbled, rubbing his eyes.

"Mostly due to being trapped in these soul-sucking bars," BlueMeow said, scratching at a jail bar. "You don't even have to touch them."

Musica nodded absentmindedly. "Well, that explains why I feel deaf all of a sudden."

Both of them jumped as the evil presence of Illegalist reappeared in the lair. Musica narrowed his eyes, but BlueMeow spoke before him. "Don't even try, Musica. He's a far greater evil than we've ever encountered. We can't defeat him."

Musica frowned and sat back, reluctantly listening to the lady. "I guess," he said.

Luckily, this time, Illegalist paid them no attention. No, he was now scheming who to capture next.

Lord Doug, Lord Legalist, Lady Aileana, whom shall it be? Whom? he thought.
