Ascender's Path: ORDEAL OF THE GODS

Chapter 1.

Over five decades had passed since the war with the mysterious monster temporarily ended. The mysterious dungeon and monster is still lingering around the world.

Top ranker ascender has been assigned for maintaining peace between human and the mysterious monster by constantly clearing dungeon and killing monster.

On the other hand, every adult was conscripted and trained in order to stand a chance at winning in a time that monster appeared. Yet, unfortunately, about 5 billion people perished during the war. This was roughly 50% of the world's population.

This event left many children as orphans. The government decided to pay for their living expenses until they went to military school.

The government only provided them with the bare minimum, enough for food expenses, and around 5 metre by 5 metre apartment room. This was only enough room for a small bathroom, kitchen, bed, tv, and a desk in the corner for studying.

And after the great war between human and the mysterious monster temporarily ended, the world were split into three parts.

It was divided into the according letter A to C District.

District A is a place where government officials, rich and powerful people lived.

District B is a place where military officials and Ascender who protect and maintain peace lived. This place is also the center of everything where shop and other activities happened.

District C is a place where people including Ascender who wants to act freely not bound by the governments rules and regulations lived.

In other words district C is an outside the boundaries of government and other influential people.

Therefore, everyone who lives here didn't give a importance to someone's status, even if they were rich or poor, powerful or weak, as long as you can protect yourself is already enough to live here.

Furthermore, in district C you can easily find guild for adventurer who have the same power of Ascender.

Adventurer like the name suggested they were a people who lives through by completing quests, dungeon and killing monster. Other people with no ability also registered here just to get money for themselves even if its dangerous.

And in the district B a boy with the named, Zander Stratos, was an orphan living alone in an apartment provided by the government. He belonged to a family of ancient martial artists, training every single day from an extremely young age.

The name of his family dojo was "The Forbidden Art Of A Forgotten Master".

It was not very well known since it did not focus on ability-oriented training, which Zander did not mind at all as he trained his heart out along with his parents every day.

Being recognized as a martial arts prodigy that would only come every few thousand years even from when he was 6 and being able to easily grasp even the most complex of moves, we can truly say that he's worthy being called a genius.

The dojo did not have many students, so his family wasn't exactly the richest. They were saving up their money enough in order to maintain their own livelihood.

But in order to maintenance their own son's needs and help him in life since martial arts was nowhere near powerful enough to protect their son in the now dark world they live in.

As a result they were forced to work harder than before.

Uprisings from non-ability users always happened all around the country saying that humanity had gotten corrupted ever since the mysterious monster and dungeon appeared.
