Walsh and I got a call saying Sandra could tell us more about the bodies. So here we are, standing in the medical examiners office with 8 burned bodies displayed in front of us.

"These seven, casualties. Klaus was always the target"

"Since when do casualties get decapitated?"

"Since they try to get in the way"

Walsh and I look at each other. Sandra sees the confusion on our face and decides to explain further.

"The bodies on the table are died from decapitation all except Klaus. Klaus was alive when we was sliced open."

"They wanted him to suffer"

"Oh he suffered alright"

"I'm still stuck on the death by decapitation part. You mean the killer..."

"Clean cut, straight through for all except the one at the end. He was jabbed through the neck, sliced up, then sliced off."

...

Again, what the hell did they do to make this person so mad? To die like this? Hell no.

Walsh and I just stand there, stuck. Because honestly, where do you go from here? Yes this information is gathered for trial and yada yada but I've never seen a case like this. How do you handle a killer like this?

"Anything else we need to know?"

"Not at the moment"

Walsh and I go back to the upper level. Michelson and Jenkins are going over files. Briggs walks over to us

"Learn anything interesting?"

"That our killer is either a samurai or has watching the movie 300 a billion times"

Briggs makes a face

Same. Briggs. Same

"What about you?"

"From little we could salvage, Ivanov was working on a project"

"What type of project?"

"We only got the name. E- XVII- Mill"

"Thanks to Elon Musk, we will probably never know what that means"

Why does it seem like the more we learn the more confused we get.

"You think this project is the motive for murder?"

"He's a famous experimental scientist. It's possible"

"But who would know about it, is the question?"

"Or who's to say his death had anything to do with the project"

"Any friends or family we could interview?"

"No"

We are getting no where and it's frustrating the fuck out of me. I would say it's because I, as I stated, I like to solve puzzles and this cases gave me no pieces but that's not it. It's another puzzle that has caused me to the lose sleep
