Explosive Opening

Crobat started by firing blasts of wind into its opponent but the attacks seemed to do barely anything. "Metagross, use Meteor Mash!" Emerald commanded and his Pokémon jumped up with its arm raised.

"Get out of the way Crobat and use Crunch!" Crobat swerved around the metal mass and bit down onto its side. Metagross cried out and shook the bat Pokemon off of it.

"Metagross hit them with Zen Headbutt." Metagross spun around and rammed into Crobat with lightning speed.

Silver winced and pulled out Crobat's Poké Ball. "Crobat come back!" And then he sent out his Feraligatr.

"An exciting start to the battle has forced Silver to pull out his first Pokémon! We'll see what his plan is now!" Andy shouted over the sound system.

Gold could tell Silver was getting nervous but he knew his friend had things under control. "Waterfall!" Feraligatr suddenly was surrounded by water and slammed into Metagross head on. "Ice Punch!"

Right as the first attack finished, Feraligatr suddenly coated its fist in ice and swung it into the metal beast before it.

Emerald grit his teeth. "Hang in there Metagross and use Hammer Arm!" Mega gross recovered from the blows and dropped one of its meaty arms onto Feraligatr's head.

The water Pokémon staggered back but shook off the damage. "Now use Crunch and throw him!" Feraligatr suddenly lunged at Metagross and chomped down on one of its legs. Silver's starter lifted the Goliath and flipped it over. "Waterfall!"

Just as Metagross crashed onto the ground it was pounded by a rush of water from its opponent. The metallic monster skidded across the ground until coming to a stop.

Emerald thrust his hand out. "Hang in there Metagross! Use Zen Headbutt!" Metagross started to rush forward headfirst but Silver smiled.

"We've got this Feraligatr! Use Waterfall and Ice Punch!" Water swelled around the alligator Pokémon and as it surged forward to meet Metagross it became frozen in ice.

The two Pokémon met head on and Metagross was completely overwhelmed and knocked over. The Pokémon groaned one last time and went unconscious.

The arena began to scream and Silver breathed a sigh of relief. "Way to go Silv! That was incredible!" Gold cheered.

Emerald didn't seem too shaken as he returned his first Pokémon and took out his second Poké Ball. "And the first Pokémon is taken out! Now it's time to see what Emerald has planned or else it'll be it for the budding trainer!"

Emerald tossed the sphere into the air and a Salamence burst from it. Gold knew enough about Hoenn to recognize the draconian beast.

"Feraligatr start off with Ice Punch!" Feraligatr started to run in to take down Salamence but for some reason Emerald's Pokémon made no moves to dodge.

The water Pokémon was able to land a free blow onto Salamence despite the attack despite immense damage. "Now use Dragon Rush!" Salamence suddenly snapped into action and slammed into Feraligatr, knocking it back.

Silver's Pokémon staggered to its feet and seemed to be getting worn down. "Hang in there and use Iron Tail!" Feraligatr's Tail started to glow and it jumped up, slamming its tail into the dragon's head.

Salamence somehow absorbed the blow and stayed airborne. "Flamethrower!" A wave of fire exploded from Salamence's maw and consumed Feraligatr briefly. The Pokémon crashed onto the ground and despite the move being not very effective, it still fainted.

"Alright." Wally said. "That's the Salamence I know."

"Incredible! Salamence beats Feraligatr and shows off its incredible endurance!" Andy recapped. "Both trainers are now down to their final Pokémon! Let's see how this fight goes!"
