Third-person POV
It was a ruthless and cold-blooded massacre.
That was the only way to describe it.
As if playing a game of cat and mouse, the perpetrators were being chased down and funnelled out the back door of the laboratory, their screams of terror resonating throughout the building. But the entrance had been blocked by a thick block of ice, so there was no way out. There were no means of escaping. All those who would dare to retaliate were swiftly silenced by the child's manifested ice-blade. At this point, Riei's cold sapphire eyes were utterly devoid of any glint of compassion. Anyone who tripped or stumbled was left where they fell as icicles pierced their flesh, their screams adding fuel to the fears of those who remained.
Riei carries his unconscious sister on his back as he walks over the dead, as if oblivious to their presence. His eyes were as cold as a frozen puddle, robbing him of the warmth he was used to. Riei had already succumbed to the stench of blood that had engulfed his body and suffocated his thoughts. It was a toxin to his spirit, numbing all of his other feelings until it was none left.
The hunt had finally come to an end; there was no human alive to be found.
In the eerie silence, Riei's 'fear' echoed the starlight on that chilly winter night. Perhaps it was the moonlight that made his skin appear so pale, or the lack of wind that allowed every hair to flow without movement. It was a breathtaking sight for the white beasts, who were being held in captivity.
(Disclaimer; The picture is drawn by me.)
The beast had assumed that the child was nothing more than a flicker of a flame in a hurricane that should have wiped it out, but instead, he arrives as a spark, igniting a fire in its heart that had already become tinder dry.
He could hear a low growl coming from the cell. Yet, all he could see was the shine from those bright golden eyes behind the cold steel bars. They were full of knowledge of the wild and a sense of longing for a home it could never return to.
Riei shifted his feet and looked at the white tiger with cold eyes. The tiger's snow-white fur, accented with black velvet artist stripes, was a striking contrast against the grey steel bars. It didn't deserve to be there.
"You want to be saved?" The growl became even more ominous and deafening.
"That's fine with me." His blade struck the prison, which froze solid before dissolving into pieces. Then, Riei continued walking as he had before, disregarding the beast.
Finally, the boy gazed upon the dawn after 15 days of being locked in that hell hole. The sun arose and opened its petals to the world, like a flower blooming. Amid the dancing clouds were the blush of scarlet and the warmth of tangerine. It was a completely different atmosphere than where he had come from. It was only at that point that Riei's icy blade dissipated, and his legs gave way as he fell into the snowdrift with his sister pressing against his back. His long, blue hair has finally returned to its natural length and colour.
