"Okay one last handprint." Melody said to her sister Maci.

"Now you are ready." London said to her cousin

Maci just shook her head as she looked to her older sister Melody and her cousin London.

They were laying out by the pool, it was 4th of July weekend. All of Maci's family was over for their BBQ.

"Food is done." Benson said as he turned off the grill.

Maci helped Melody up, when she noticed her sister needed to take a breathe, "You good Mel?" She said

"Yeah, Im just really tired." Melody said

Melody has been battling endometrial and uterine cancer for two years now. She was diagnosed at 19. They all went inside enjoyed the hamburgers, hot dogs, and more importantly the family time.

Later that night with the help of his father, and brother in law set off fireworks. He watched as his oldest daughter enjoyed her night.

Two days later, Alexandria made breakfast for her daughters.

"Maci honey can you go get Mel she may need help." Alexandria said

"Yeah sure mom." Maci said

She passed her little sister, Lara "Was Mel up?" She said

"Her door was still closed so I don't know." Lara said

Maci went upstairs and knocked on her sisters door, "Mel.." she said as she opened the door.

"Melody wake up mom made your favorite." She said as she got closer.

"Mel.." she repeated

Maci was scared, she wasn't moving so she felt for a pulse.

"MOM!!!" Maci screamed

Alexandria jumped and went running up the stairs as Benson came out of his bedroom where he was getting ready for work. They both came running in,

"She's gone...she's...gone." Maci cried.

Benson checked her pulse and called the coroner while Alexandria made the phone calls to family. They had the funeral just three days later Maci came downstairs as she was about to go into the kitchen.

"Its just so sad, Mel was only 21. She never got to experience life, love or travel the world like she always talked about." Rosalyn said (her grandmother)

Maci sat down on the stairs as she wiped tears her grandmother was right. Maci ended up going back up to her room and made herself a bucket list for herself to accomplish during her junior year of college.
