Camilo was in his mother's room, a cup of tea in his hand trying to calm her. He had succeeded in bringing the majority of the thunderstorm down to the localized area above her head, but outside Casita, the blustery wind continued to beat down on the town.
"It's okay, Mami." He said softly. "Deep breath in, deep breath out."
The wall suddenly moved, bumping into the rocking chair that his mother was gripping tightly. A spark of lightning struck Camilo straight in the face. He cried out, leaping backwards and transforming randomly as a response to the pain. He bumped into the table, spilling the burning water in the teapot on himself which didn't help the situation. And just his luck that the teapot would fall on his foot as well.
"I'm sorry, Mijo." His frazzled mother exclaimed.
"It's okay, I'm okay." He shook his head to clear it and cleaned up the mess that had occurred, speaking more soothing words to his mother as he did so.

It didn't matter, ultimately, what Camilo tried, because the storm outside didn't quell and his má's feelings only became more erratic as the walls of Casita cracked and crumbled. The tensions between everyone had never been higher. The village began to be concerned with the state of the household and Abuela went to the town to try to smooth things over.
Camilo felt completely useless. Usually when tensions ran high, he would make a joke or otherwise ease the emotional burden weighing down on everyone, but there was nothing he could do to fix this. He couldn't patch Casita or the family.
"Has anyone seen Mirabel?" Julieta called in the front room, Ana at her side.
"Is she missing?" Camilo asked, running down the stairs.
"We can't find her anywhere." Julieta looked stressed and tired.
"Don't worry, we'll look for her." Ana assured her. "Camilo, you search the house. I'll go see if I can find some townsfolk to help search the village."
He nodded and they walked their seperate ways.

Ana ran through the village, desperately searching for a familiar face to help. Then she saw one: Carlos standing on the corner.
"Carlos!" Ana called, running over to him. "Can you help me search the town for Mirabel?"
"Oh, yeah, of course. What happened?" He looked concerned.
"It's a rather long story, but we can't find her."
"Okay." Carlos put a hand to his chin, thinking. "We should split up to cover more ground. I'll take the west side of the town because those streets are less organized and harder to navigate. You take the east side. Meet back by the church." He ran off before Ana could respond, but she nodded to herself and set off.

"Mirabel!" Camilo called out from the foyer. He had looked everywhere. Dolores' room. Antonio's. His. Tia's. Everyone's. The bathroom, hallways, and kitchen all stood vacant of Mirabel's presence. She was nowhere to be found. The cracks in Casita had gotten larger and his power had started acting up again, the strange feeling returning.
