Future Diary: Rewritten / 未来日記: 書き直した (Inspired by Sakae Esuno's "Future Diary")

Chapter VIII - Meeting someone new.

Kusuo Makoto (A reference to Kusuo Saiki from The Disatorous life of Saiki K), a 21 year old student who attends the University of Tokyo, that has psychic powers, is a family friend of the Amano's, Gasai's, and Nakamoto's, but all 3 of those families have not introduced their children to Kusuo. Kusuo, with light pink hair and green-ish white glasses, is more of a thinker who thinks about what he wants to say before he says it. He may speak through telepathy, but that's not always true in some cases. He would always bump into Edwin, Yuno, or in some cases, Yukiteru, but would most likely ignore them whenever one of the three is saying something towards them. However, Kusuo is ready to meet Edwin, Yuno, and Yukiteru for the first time. He'll meet Mikey, Kazutora, Minene, and Angel, later on.
Across the road that lives from Kusuo, is Suzuya Hashiro (A reference to Juuzou from Tokyo Ghoul), a very much straightforward 19 year old who doesn't attend University at all, but rather decides to spend a majority of their time playing games, entering contests for the games they play, and winning cash prizes for the games they play as a result of being so skilled in what they do professionally. After being told to leave their father's place and stay with their mother, which their mother is open to accept Suzuya as a non-binary person, Suzuya has maintained a special place within the gaming world. Suzuya also makes time to go out with friends, who respect Suzuya's pronouns since Suzuya's friends have known Suzuya for around 8 to 9 years. Suzuya meanwhile, doesn't have a significant other, despite being pansexual. Suzuya has a brother, Arisu Hashiro (A reference to Ryohei Arisu from Alice in Borderland), who's also a gamer, just like Suzuya. Arisu, is only 16 years old as of now, However, the oldest sibling in the Hashiro family is Yuzuha Hashiro (A reference to Yuzuha Usagi/Yuzuha Arisu from Alice in Borderland), who's 21 years old. Yuzuha does online classes from home, but still attends University. Yuzuha checks up on Suzuya and Arisu every day to see if they're hydrated. If they're not hydrated, she brings them some water for them to drink. Suzuya doesn't really like water to drink, they prefer soda. Arisu meanwhile, prefers water over soda, and will drink water when dehydrated. Yuzuha does her best to maintain her grades, check up on Suzuya as well as Arisu, and work on manga related stuff. Similar to Edwin's style, Yuzuha wears a red and black surgical mask, but wears red and black clothing. Yuzuha paints her nails red, because if she paints her nails black, a lot of people will say she will copy Edwin's style. However, Yuzuha had received Edwin's phone number from one of her online classmates, that knew Edwin from a while back. The classmate had sent Edwin's phone number to Yuzuha because the classmate felt like her and Edwin could be together at one point in the future.
Yuzuha had somehow read the text her online classmate had sent her and said, "Hm, Edwin Nakamoto? Maybe I'll send him a text."
In the 10 minutes that passed, Yuzuha had somehow added Edwin's phone number, to which Edwin got a notification that someone had added their number. Yuzuha then decided to text Edwin, and the two of them would have quite an interesting conversation via text messages.
The following text messages from the Yuzuha-Edwin conversation are these:

Yuzuha: Hi! I somehow got your number via an online classmate that claimed to knew you from a while back. I do not know if that is accurate or not, but they said they have known you since Elementary School.
Edwin: Oh, hello there. Some people do claim to know me since as far back as Elementary School. Somehow. By the way, may I know your name?
Yuzuha: My name is Yuzuha Hashiro. You can call me Yuzu for short. What's your name?
Edwin: Pretty name. Also, pretty nickname. My name is Edwin Nakamoto, but you may refer to me by Eddie since that's what most of my friends refer to me as.
Yuzuha: Nice to meet you, Eddie.
Edwin: Nice to meet you too, Yuzu.
Yuzuha: So, what have you been up to?
Edwin: Nothing, really. I've been trying to deal with my Yandere girlfriend who won't stop bugging me.
Yuzuha: Kaede? Oh, I know her. Well, she seems like the type to look up to someone. Who does she look up to?
Edwin: She looks up to a younger version of my friend, Yuno Gasai.
Yuzuha: Has Yuno changed her ways as of late?
Edwin: Yes, very much so. She's changed from being a Yandere since Secondary School. Also, she has a boyfriend, Yukiteru Amano.
Yuzuha: I heard a lot about Yukiteru and Yuno. They're some tall people.
Edwin: I mean, Yuki is 6'4", but I'm 6'7", how tall are you?
Yuzuha: I'm the tallest in my family at 5'11".
Edwin: Not bad, for a girl.
Yuzuha: Stop. It's kind of embarrassing being the tallest in a family, especially my family. Do you attend University remotely or in-person?
Edwin: I do it in-person. I heard you take classes from the University of Tokyo remotely.
Yuzuha: That's correct. I do it from home, my mother's home to be specific, I don't live with my dad anymore because one of my siblings came out as Non-Binary.
Edwin: So they got kicked out of your father's place?
Yuzuha: Yes, but not only them, I also did, and my brother, Arisu, also got told to leave.
Edwin: Oh dear. I mean, I'll be out of University in a couple of years. I probably will be married in four years, but I'll try to make time for you.
Yuzuha: Lucky. I don't get out of University until I'm 23.
Edwin: Did you start Univeristy at 19 or 20?
Yuzuha: I started at 19. What about you?
Edwin: I started as a 20 year old. Some have different times of when they want to start University. I don't blame you for starting University at 19.
Yuzuha: I'm a sophomore in University. What about you?
Edwin: Junior. Why?
Yuzuha: Dang, you're older than me by one year.
Edwin: Oh. Well, I hope that's not a big deal if I decide to see you anytime soon.
Yuzuha: Don't worry, I'll try to see you sometime soon. I promise.
Edwin: Thank you. See you soon.
Yuzuha: See you soon.

After the text message conversation that Yuzuha and Edwin had, Yuzuha had decided to continue working on her manga related stuff that she wanted to work on despite texting Edwin for some time.
She then says to herself, quitely, "What could I do for them? Would seeing them be enough for me to catch feelings for them? I will have to ask Kaede, my half sister, about a wish, a wish she will have to tell them in the future when they get married. Their purpose of marriage will be for me to marry Eddie after Kaede passes away. I will have to tell Kaede, but not Edwin. What is being forgotten when you're not popular? We'll have to find out and see, in some kind of way."
