Aleena let out a sigh checking herself in the mirror. The now twenty-two year old pushed a piece of hair behind her ear and resisted the urge to just put it up in a ponytail.

"Lee, you look perfect." Peter voiced from the doorway. Aleena turned towards her fiancee and sighed.

"Really? Cause I feel like I look like I'm gonna puke in front of all of New York."

"Babe, your shaking." Peter pointed out walking towards her and wrapping her in his arms. "You will be perfect, its just a press conference."

"Yes, a press conference where people are going to ask about Harry and my father and uncle, they're going to ask about you and point out how young I am. They're going to criticize every single breath I take, I am terrified of fucking up and making Oscorp look like a big joke."

"You won't, you will crush it. I believe in you. And if anyone says anything, you have Spider-Man on your side."

"New York will actually be happy your back."

"They'll be happy you're home too. Gwen even came back from England to see you."

"I heard she dyed her hair red."

"Rough." Peter winced.

Peter let go of her and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Look at you. You skipped a grade, you were the salutatorian, you got into Stanford with a full scholarship, room and board included, you were valedictorian of your graduating class and you own one of the most successful corporations in America. You Aleena Watts are unstoppable and a couple reporters and gossip writers can never change that. And you're only twenty-two. We're gonna get married and everything will be perfect."

"I guess." Aleena grinned.

Peter smiled down at her and kissed her head.

Two hours later Aleena stood on top of the steps leading to Oscorp behind a podium as reporters, news cameras and civilians filled in right below her.

"Hello! My name is Aleena Watts and I am now the owner of Oscorp." She started and many clapped, she looked over the crowd spotting her family and some of the people from her high school. Flash, Gwen, Missy Kellenback and even Ben Blumenthal. "My father Alexander Osborn and his brother, my uncle, Norman Osborn started this company when they were younger than I am now. And since my cousin Harry Osborn is unable to run this company, while I was at college I asked a trusted partner to become standing CFO. But I am here now and I will make sure Oscorp is run smoothly and safely so no more incidents occur like the ones which created New York's hero Spider-Man and Doctor Curtis Connors who had been working on cross-species genetics when he mutated himself and attempted to mutate this fine city of ours. Any major projects will be sent to me for approval and if I do approve of them I will personally oversee them."

A flurry of reporters called her name, Aleena pointed to one who quickly asked her question. "How do we know that you can do the things you promise, will you be held accountable for your companies mistakes?"

"Because I have a board of the best lawyers with me including my mother who will still kick my ass for being stupid, she is a smart logical woman who knows how to keep me in check, so if you can't trust my word, trust her judgment. And unlike my uncle and cousin I feel plausible deniability helps no one and that when I screw up even a little bit, which I'm sure I will, I will take the repercussions and fix my mistakes as I go along."

"What happened to your cousin five years ago?" One reporter yelled out.

"My family has a genetic disease called retroviral hyperplasia, my cousin was diagnosed when his father died and became paranoid searching to cure himself. Then when Max Dillon was mutated into electro Harry was blamed for pushing it under the rug. He broke into a Oscorp facility where Mr. Dillon was being experimented on which has since been closed. Harry used Mr. Dillon to get Donald Menken to take him to a lab below the building where the last of Dr. Connors's serum was held and used it on himself. It ruined his mind and made the disease spread faster. He used unauthorized Oscorp technology to kill Menken and then attempted to kill myself and Spider-Man, he was unsuccessful and put into a high security prison."

"What is your relationship with Spider-Man?"

"When I was seventeen I worked with Dr. Connors and my now fiance to perfect cross-species genetics, Spider-Man came to me and asked for my help to perfect his web-shooters, when Dr. Connors attacked the city I, with my father Captain Warren Turner and the late Captain George Stacy assisted Spider-Man on the roof of the very building behind me. Then a year later Spider-Man asked me to help ground his web-shooters to fight against Mr. Dillon. I then helped reset the Oscorp Power Grid. My cousin who had mutated came to the power grid attempting to kill Spider-Man, then attempting to kill myself when he realized I helped Spider-Man. I have actually set up a new program with him which will take place in two weeks from now."

"Do you know who Spider-Man is under the mask?"

"Sadly not, the few times we've met he had been masked the entire time."

"Why did no one know that Alexander Osborn had a child?"

"It was kept a secret to protect myself and mother from media. Some people who worked at Oscorp knew but not many. When I was young my father was killed in a lab explosion and it has continued to be a secret until I released the information upon leaving Stanford."

"Why should you be trusted with the company?"

"Because I am a strong young woman with the education and support to do so. After five years of business, psychology and accounting with an iq of 237 and being the founder of a small science program in California I find myself to be perfectly capable to run Oscorp which I have seen the inner workings of when Harry ran things and when my trusted partner ran things. I know what needs to be changed and was structures need to be implemented for this company to become one hundred percent successful."

"Will you continue to keep giving scholarships and internships to low income high school students?"

"Of course I will, Oscorp needs interns just as much as they need Oscorp. And as I said before I have set up a partnership with Spider-Man for a new program where students from grade nine to seniors in college can create new tech for our hero. The students will be given wages for their time so they don't have to worry about money while actively studying and learning. We have also made a deal with the state of New York that this program will also count as a college credit so future scientists and creators can have more time to get to do what they love. This program includes a scholarship as well."

"Are you still in contact with your cousin?"

"My cousin caused me to fall from a clock tower, breaking my spine in three places." Or was the story everyone had been told. "I would be dead if it weren't for Spider-Man, I have not spoken to or seen my cousin in five years. I have no desire to see him."

"There are rumors that you and your fiance were the ones who created the lizard Curtis Connors had become." Someone in the back called out.

Aleena looked into the crowd to see Peter already staring at her, he wrapped an arm around May's shoulder and nodded.

"My fiance and I were the ones who showed the decay rate algorithm to Dr. Connors which turned him into the lizard. However the algorithm was not perfect which caused Dr. Connors rapid decline in mental health. When we realized what we had done we went to the police who had not believed us. Days later the lizard attacked Midtown high school and we managed to convince the police to take action."

"Who has been running Oscorp for the past five years?"

"They have asked to remain unknown to protect themselves and their family."

This person was Addie, the local librarian who she had kept in touch with when she was off to California. She had to work inside the library to keep suspicions from arising though a select few did know she was standing CFO.

"Now, I think I've answered enough questions. I would like to open my building." Aleena changed the subject stepping away from the podium and towards the doors of the building. "Ladies and gentlemen of New York, welcome to Oscorp!" She announced opening the double doors and stepping into the pristine building with a smile so big her face hurt.

AND WE HAVE FINISHED THE BOOK!
