Danielle's p.o.v
School is now over. It's been three weeks since my mother has passed away and it's one week into summer break. I'm finally done wth high school and so is Casey. Casey, he's been staying at my house ever since the day I got the call.
He's basically moved in. I laugh at this because about 4 weeks ago I couldn't stand him and now we are super close and I love having his company around. He was there for me when my mother passed and it was nice to have someone there who knew how it felt to loose someone. He tells me about his mother dying when he was younger and his dad being in jail. He's been on his own longer then I have.
I told the turtles after I got my mind straight of the situation, which was 3 days later. That night I went out on patrol with them along with Casey and I told them. Mikey was the first to hug me, of course. Leo and I talked the way back, it was good to talk to him again. It's funny, if I don't see these guys after a few days I start to miss them a lot. They really are family and knowing this helped me through dealing with the pain.
Even though I lost my wonderful mother, my only blood relative I had left, I knew I still had family.
Now here I am, sitting in the lair. I have my legs on Casey to annoy him and because he hates feet. Casey and I ordered some pizzas and brought them down to the lair. Since my mother passed, I got all the family money, which was a lot more then I expected. It was enough to live comfortable without a job and then some.
I've been thinking about my living situation while we eat. It's going to be empty in the apartment if it's only me forever. And I do like Casey's company. Maybe I'd have him move in, of course he would have my old room and I'd move into my mother's.
I turn to Casey.
"So, um Casey." I start and he looks over to me. "I've been thinking and um since you've been staying at my place for about 3 or so weeks and I like your company.. I was thinking and was wondering if you want to just move in, seeing you basically have already."
The turtles who were playing video games all turn their heads. Leo stares right at me. The turtles look at me and then look at Casey, but Leo continues to glare at me.
"Why not Sunshine?" He says smiling. I smile back and punch him in arm. "It's settled then puck head." I continue to smile. Raph Donnie and Mikey all laugh and turn back to the game. Leo gets up and leaves the room.
I shrug it off thinking he was jut going to meditate with Splinter. It's 7 o'clock now and Casey tells me he should go back to his place to pack. We say goodbye and he leaves. After he leaves the three tutles still in the room turn to me smiling. I glance over at them.
"What?" I ask confused.
"You catch feelings for puck head?" Raph asks.
"What! No!" I say half yelling.
"Come on Danielle you can tell you do." Mikey says.
"Yeah you asked him to move in with you." Donnie adds.
"I was just being nice!" I say. "My apartment is big I just didnt wanna be alone." I say.
"Sureee " they all say laughing.
In 2 days Casey is moved in completely to my house. He didn't have much. I'm glad I have him to talk too and be around. We've gotten so close.
I was listening to music on the couch when Casey took my headphones out.
"Hey" He said smiling.
"Hi" I say. "What's up?" I ask him. He looks like he needs something.
"Do you wanna go out tonight?" He asks me.
My heart drops. 'Is he asking me out on a date? Should I ask if it is ask date? What should I say? Damn get yourself together what the heck Danielle' I think all at once.
"Like as a date?" I ask nervous of the answer.
"Uh yeah" He says and rubs his shoulder like he's also neevous.
I smile, "yeah. I'd like that." I say.
He smiles back and says that we are gonna go to the local restaurant then for a walk. Which sounds great to me. He leaves the room and now I can't stop smiling. I probaly look like an idiot.
'Maybe I'm falling for puckhead' I think to myself and laugh.
