It had sadly stopped raining, I wanted to stay here longer, I felt almost....safe here.

"cmon Romanoff, let's go back home now" "right, okay"

"she was really sweet wasn't she" sam finally said, disturbing the peaceful silence in the car.

"who?" "her" "oh" "yeah" "she was really sweet yeah" finally admitting with a small smile spread across my face. "and really pretty too" I closed my eyes, picturing the way her eyes glistened against the ships bright but subtle lights and the way her teeth were perfectly straight and white, the way her smile would make her nose crinkle. Her eyes were a deep brown, but honey like in the sunlight, her eyelashes were naturally long and curved upwards like her nose. I am a stalker, I think to myself as I gather myself from my thoughts, returning to the blank expression on my face.

"whatcha thinkin' bout?" god he is so annoying. "nothing" just please leave me alone, "doesn't seem like nothin' to me" for gods sake, "sam!" irritated, no just plain out angry, "what?" attitude, i hate attitude. "shut the hell up for two seconds!" breathe.

it worked, he shut up.
all I wanted to do was go back to she coffee shop, I wanted to see her, her smile was like a ray of sunshine, like a steaming hot cup of coffee. I wish it was the next day already.

I finally woke up out of a deep sleep, that's odd. I never sleep that long.

I was searching for my alarm clock, I read what it said, 6:15. i've still got time.

I got up, got dressed, brushed my teeth, threw up my hair and grabbed my keys.

——
I was too scared to go in, i'm not sure why, i've been wanting to go back since we left yesterday. I swallowed my fearfulness and pulled the door open, the sweet smell of coffee hitting my nose. where is she.

"Hi can I get a green tea no sugar please?" I had to speak with an unfamiliar barista, I hated it, but I took a seat by the window and opened up my phone, I stared at the number....her number, I thought it was crazy, i'm not sure why she gave it to me but it made me smile..... "green tea with no sugar?" "that's right, thank you"

I took a sip, gross. it didn't taste the same as when she made it, where was she, maybe she wasn't working today. I couldn't possibly text her, I just couldn't.
*ding ding* I looked up, I wont have to now.

I watched as she walked into the shop, smiling at the random people who came in and making small chit chat with her regulars, god...her laugh was contagious, she was contagious...I couldn't get enough. I finally looked away even though I didn't want to, I continued to scroll onto my phone, well..until someone sat in front of me.

"hey pretty lady, back so soon?" I looked up, "hi, yeah it's calming for me" I said with a smile forming on my face, she took my cup, turning it towards her, "didn't you get this yesterday?" normally I would've taken that as a mean comment but this just seemed so innocent, I just nodded and stared.

"you never texted me" she crossed her arms onto the table and laid her head in the indentation her arms formed, she looked almost disappointed. "busy" my response was bland, I didn't mean for it to be though.

"oh" her small smile turned into a blank expression, I couldn't understand what she was feeling, I couldn't read her body language. "are you working?" I ignored this interaction, "uhm yeah" she got up at left, angry? mad? disappointed? what was happening.

as customers came in, her usual smile was now a faded frown, her eyes didn't glisten in the sun now, she looked so sad..oh
she's sad, why would she be sad? was it something I said? did it come off as rejection? how do I make it up to her?

——————
"y/n" her face turned to me, faint smile across her face, "when do you get off?" "in 15 minutes" she checked her watch to make sure, nodding to herself.

"is it okay if" I stopped, it wasn't hesitation but fear, "if, what?"
"is it okay if I could take you on a date...?"

there was a long silence, my heart was pounding as I watched her facial expressions start to change. "i'd really like that" oh thank god. I couldn't help but smile, the glisten in her eyes were back and her smile started to reappear.

"great, i'll see you soon" butterflies filled my stomach as I left, I had to do something special....sunset picnic, perfect.

If only I was good at romantic things...
