Prolog;

it was both of their first dates in years, they both never thought they'd end up back to the basics of dating yet here they were. Sitting at the table with awkward silence and picking at their food. Clint tried to make small talk, though it wasn't the best. It did help ease you into talking.

The night continued slowly, a pace that would bother others but you liked it. Opening up to each other slowly and letting each other know why'd you been on Dates, the app you both used. You found out Clint was going through a divorce and had just wanted to try and move on, and you who had just broken up with your fiancé could relate.

Questions and answers were put out there in the mood eased, the tension went out the window.

"I'm enjoying this, I was honestly so scared- No more anxious when I first talked to you over text." You said.

Clint looked a little confused, not bothered though "Why's that?"

You chuckled "When I found out you never dated guys before and that you were older than me I thought that you'd be super weirded out by me, and all of this." you said, gesturing to your clothes, makeup, and hair.

Clint laughed a little "Like I said when I picked you up, you look great." he reached out to put his hand on your hand holding it "Not to mention I'm not that much older than you." He winked.

The night was great. You two had finished dinner and left the restaurant to go for a walk in a nearby park that Clint drove you to. Getting Ice Cream on the way, even opting to take off your shoes once you got there because they were a bit annoying.

It was drawing close to midnight, neither of you noticed and continued to look up at the sky from the park bench. You later your head on his shoulder, he put an arm around you. "All night I've been wondering why you looked so familiar, I can't quite put my finger on why," you said softly and went back to eating your ice cream. Clint smiled "I think I'll keep it a secret and let you figure out why, adds a little mystery".

Splat

That was the sound of your ice cream falling onto Clint's lap "Oh shit!" you said.

The date ended with Clint dropping you off at your apartment, he drove you there, and even though you were so worried and continued to apologize he reassured you it was ok. You felt like this minor mistake was the end of it all. End of what could've been, end of the beginning.

Clint walked you to your door, he wanted to kiss you off for the night. "I'm sorry about your pants, I swear I'll make it up to you," you said a nervous wreck.

"You can't make it up to me by going out with me again, I enjoyed tonight Y/N." He said, kissing you on your cheek. He was just about to walk away until you grabbed him and kissed him on the lips, pulling back "You got yourself a deal."

You waved him goodbye, you knew this wasn't the last time you'd see him. As you got inside and closed the door your face was hot to the touch, blood rushed to it and you smiled, the kind of smile you give when your crush notices you. Giddy and excited 'What a night, What a man' you thought.
