A masquerade ball maybe?
Hide who you are
Try to deceive people
Figure out who everyone is
Only to find out you were wrong all along
Sounds fun
The game
The hiding
The deceit
The twists
But it's just a party
everything is fake
And everything is over by tomorrow
But it's not
I am not the face I hide under
Masquerade ball turned murder mystery?
A hideous crime
An unsuspecting victim
A few who can justify the murder
And a lot who thought it would never happen
53 trans people were killed last year
For the soul reason of being
They took off their mask
The became themselves
Even if it killed them
the mask was killing them first
It was tearing them apart from the inside out
So the saved themselves
Only to be brutally murdered the next day
I wish this was only a story
