Preparations and the search starts

3rd POV:

It was finally time for the one thing Tyler had been dreading.

The very first full moon, since she triggered her werewolf curse.

And she was most definitely not something she was looking forward to.

As the day of the full moon drew closer and closer, Tyler began to fidget more and more.

In the end, she was unable to focus on the simplest things, like eating or just laying in her bed.

It felt like her skin was constantly on fire.

It also felt like she was always angry and impatient over nothing.

Having told Charlie that it was just exhaustion and the time difference, he didn't question it.

She had been texting Jake, using the same excuse as to why she couldn't hang out with him during, so that she wouldn't attack or hurt him in any way.

Just the previous day, Tyler had played the memory card, she had found in Mason's journal, and it was not what she had expected.

It was worse.

Way worse.

She had also read some of the stuff that Mason had writing down.

'August 31, 2009:

My body is changing. I'm edgy. I'm angry, impatient. I get so mad, I black out and forget what I say or do. I'm not myself, not since Jimmy's death. What's happening to me?'

Apperently, he had taped his first transformation. And had documented his experience in the journal the very next day.

'September 16, 2009:

I chose the garage. I could deadbolt the door. It was far from the street so no one could hear. I bolted hooks to the floor for the carabineers. I diluted wolfsbane with water to weaken myself, but I could barely get it down without puking. It felt like I was drinking battery acid. Hours passed and nothing happened. It got so quiet, I could hear my own blood pumping. That's when...I kept thinking I'd black out and not feel it. But I did. I... I felt all of it. Unimagiable pain. I thought it would never end. It was the worst night of my life.'

Watching Mason bolt himself down in his garage, drinking wolfsbane mixed with water to weaken himself, basically puking it up again as he coughed and struggled to breathe, and watching him struggle as he ripped off his clothes and tried very hard to break himself free from his chains, and watching him scream for help, and reading his journal entry at the same time...

It was simply too much.

Tyler could only watch some of it in the beginning, before she closed the lid on the laptop.

All week, she had been trying to watch the full video, but never really couldn't.

Until the morning on the day of the full moon.

The video played on the laptop as Tyler was packing a duffel bag, and putting the chains, extra clothes, two water bottles, and thanks to uncle Charlie, because he goes hunting and fishing when he can, wolfsbane. Along with anything else she might need for the dreaded night.

Although, when Charlie had left it out for Tyler to take, because you never know when something like this might come in handy, Tyler got burned and her skin sizzled for a moment before healing quickly again, but thankfully, uncle Charlie hadn't been in the room when it had happened.
