9: The Plan

I instantly recognise them as the person who knows the password. The person from the dream.
It seems that Astrid recognises them too.
She gasps, covering her mouth with her hand and looks to Jax and Milla.

Jax speak first.
"Do you recognise them?"
"Y-yes, they know the... password..."
Jax looks to Milla with concern. Clearly, Astrid remembers something.
"Right. Well," Milla speaks this time. "They're coming with us. They know something that will come in handy."

"Can you not talk about me as if I'm not in the room?" The person says, turning around to face them.
Astrid jumps at the sound of a new voice. "Sorry, I..."
The person smiles. "It's okay. I'm Tiger. You must be... Astrid, was it?" Tiger reaches out a hand. Astrid takes it and blushes. Tiger is quite charming. They have short hair that is dyed red and greenish-blue eyes.

"Well, we had better get down to the briefing room," Jax sighs, "we've got plans to sort out and packing to do."

The four of them make their way down several flights of stairs and along a few corridors. It's a wonder no one gets lost in this place. They arrive at a door, which Jax opens, letting them in.

"Ah, Milla, Jax, Tiger! And, er... Astrid, was it? Getting ready for your mission I presume?" Comes a loud and jolly voice from behind the desk.
"That's the boss," whispers Milla to Astrid, "he tries to seem tough but really he's a softie."
"Yes, boss," Jax answers. "We're going to sort out the plans and get our things together. May we use one of the briefing rooms?"
"Ah yes, come right through!" The boss opens a door and lets the four of them in.

They all sit down at a long table that looks like the kind of thing you would find in a boardroom. Astrid looks around. The room is very modern with screens and mirrors all around the room, and a closet in one corner with it's door open. Astrid peeks into the door. It seems to be storage for weapons.

Milla sets up a laptop on the table and plugs it into a wall. She begins typing. The words come up on a big screen as she types.

"We need to start planning and making a list of what we will need on this mission." Jax says. "I suggest we first sort out transportation?"

"Yes," Milla thinks for a moment. "We could take the black van? We're not going to the Leaders' headquarters, we're going to their government building. That's where Xavier lives, and most importantly, where your parents are. The only issue is that the government building is... quite far away."
"Yeah we'll need the black van," nods Jax as Milla types.
"We'll also need a supply of food and water. Any dietary requirements?" Asks Milla.
"Vegetarian," say Astrid and Tiger in unison.
"I don't do vegetables," says Jax, which earns a laugh from around the table, and an eye roll from Milla as she types.
"Oh, we'll also need a supply of warm clothes for us all. I've been in the government building and it's really cold there." Adds Milla, typing, "and we'd better take some supplies for Astrid's parents as they will be with us when we leave the building."
"What kind of ammo are we taking?" Asks Milla eagerly.
Tiger laughs. "We've got everything we need here," he says, tapping his head. Astrid thinks for a moment, confused. Then she remembers.
"But is a password really enough?" Asks Astrid doubtfully.
"We've always got my gun," reminds Milla.
Astrid doesn't think one word and a gun is enough, but she keeps quiet.

"Alright then, we'd better write out a summary of the plan. There's not much we can write at the moment because there's only so much we can plan ahead," says Jax, as Milla hands the computer over to him to type.

MISSION 4049- ASTRID'S PARENTS

Tomorrow- 4th
9pm- Begin journey to government building- Arrive next morning.

5th-
6am- Infiltrate building.
Find parents.
Capture Xavier.
