Atsumu woke to a rustling of the sheets beneath him. Sitting up and wincing at the stiffness at the back of his neck, he looked over and found Tobio's expression was tensed. The slight frown of his brow and the way his breaths came out in short gasps made his chest tighten, and then explode when Tobio woke up.

Blue eyes fluttered open, looking dazed at first before they settled on the pirate and drew closer in confusion.

"Tsumu?" Tobio asked, sounding unsure of what he was seeing.

"Hey." the Captain replied a little awkwardly, all of his guilt resurfacing once more.

"What are you doing here?" Tobio asked with a rasp, pushing himself up with a wince and grabbing the glass pitcher on the bedside, filling a glass with water and downing it in one.

"Couldn't exactly leave yer behind, could I? We'd, the crew, and well, I'd, never forgive myself." Atsumu fumbled over his words, not being able to keep eye-contact for long.

"Where is everyone else?"

"The port on the back of the island. Nobody's gonna go there so they're alright."

Tobio hummed before closing his eyes, raising a hand to his temple as his head throbbed. Kaori could really do wonders, for his ribs were only a little painful and his ankle was better enough that he could rotate it back and forth, but he knew his head would still hurt for a while. What to do now...

"Tobio?"

Tobio looked back over to Atsumu, seeing him frowning with unusual seriousness on his face.

"Yes?"

"I'm really sorry. Yer have no idea how sorry I am. I tried to keep telling myself you knew what you were doing, but when yer stuck for a whole month you begin to lose hope."

Tobio stayed quiet, letting Atsumu collect his thoughts for a moment before continuing. It was true that he was hurt when he saw the betrayal and something akin to hate in the Captain's eyes, but he had every reason to hate him since he had ignored them all for a whole month. Gods, his head was hurting so badly.

"I just..." Atsumu sighed. "I am truly sorry. Can yer forgive me?" Atsumu begged.

"Of course I can. It's my fault this mess started in the first place."

"No, it's not. It's his." Atsumu assured, both knowing he was talking about Kageyama's father.

It was quiet for a moment, just looking at each other and checking they were both okay, before Atsumu leaned in closer and gently cupped Tobio's face; brushing a thumb over his cheek he asked in a whisper:

"Can I kiss you?"

"You may."

It was just like the first time they kissed, but now it meant something much much more. They expressed their love for each other, saying without words that they would stay side by side even despite the trials against them. Tobio hummed into the kiss, happy he was so close to his lover after being apart for so long, and Atsumu was as gentle as ever to prevent hurting Tobio.

When they parted Tobio pulled the Captain into a strong hug, one returned just as passionately, as he let his head rest against the blond's neck as he exhaled a long sigh.

"I missed you." he confessed. "Very much."

"Aye, but not as much as I missed you, my treasure."

Sharing happy smiles hidden by the other's shoulder, they lost themselves in the embrace for a few moments longer before Atsumu pulled away, wanting to tell him about their new plan.
