The witches were honest and two days later Tobio woke up.

He felt dizzy and exposed, inhaling sharply as he pushed himself up to sit back against the headboard. A shiver coursed its way through his body, making him grab the covers and pull them closer to himself. Once he felt calmer and in control he stood up off the bed and made his way over to the door, stumbling once and bashing his hip painfully against the desk.

He opened the door and was met with a bright blue sky and fresh air. The sun's rays were harsher without the filter of the small windows so he blinked a few times as he adjusted. Feeling overall frustratingly weak and tired he slumped against the doorway, not registering someone calling out to him for a few moments.

"Tobio? Baby? Hey, Tobio, love? Baby, can you talk to me?"

"'Tsumu?"

"Yeah, yeah it's me." Atsumu sounded a little scared yet relieved. What was wrong?

"What happened? Why do I- why-?"

Sensing Kageyama was but a moment of way from falling, the Captain gently guided him back to the bed, sitting him down on the edge of it as he went and filled a glass with water from the pitcher. Wrapping one of Tobio's shaking hands around it, he pushed back black bangs and kissed his forehead.

"I'm so glad yer awake, love."

Kageyama managed a small hum as he focused on drinking the water, realising how dry and sharp his throat felt. He looked down and noticed he was still in a shirt and slacks, they were a little creased, so maybe he fell asleep after vising the witches? Casting a glance out the window there was no sign of the island in the distance, so they must have left shore a couple of hours ago.

"But why does my head hurt so much?" he mumbled to himself before taking another sip of water, the coolness sending a shiver through his body.

The bed sank next to him; turning his head he found Atsumu looking at him with a worried expression.

"What? Did I sleep too long?" he asked, voice still scratchy and weak.

"Tobio, do yer remember what happened with the witches?" the Captain asked warily.

Taking a moment to collect his thoughts, Tobio explained that he remembered talking with the elder witch, how she was friends with his mother, and then-

"I remember feeling very fatigued. It was cold and unpleasant, but that's it. It's all blurry."

"You were asleep for two days." Atsumu broke the news, sighing with the same exhaustion that had weighed him down ever since he saw the younger male fall down in front of him, not waking up. "The witches put something in your tea; I don't know what but we got yer out of there as soon as and then set sail."

"In my tea? Like what? And why?"

Tobio was confused. The witches were nice, the one he spoke to seemed knowledgeable and wise. So why did they drug him? Was it still running through his veins? With a shaky breath his spare hand traced his throat, fear clamming him up.

"Deep breaths. Deep breaths."

Following the muffled voice as best he could he braced himself and inhaled sharply, his exhale a lot more unstable. A few moments later a soft warmth encompassed him, making him sigh and untense his body. A steady heartbeat met his ears and the dull, constant thrumming made his eyes go heavy. He could hear the voice again trying to call out to him, something about not falling asleep again, but he was too warm and exhausted to resist. Slowly darkness clouded his vision and his conscious slipped into peaceful nothingness...

When he came to once again the warmth didn't escape him. Instead, it encompassed him with two strong arms and a warm torso; he subconsciously leaned further into it and let out a small hum.

"Tobio? You awake, love?"

Tobio hummed drowsily before drawing his hands underneath him and slowly pushing up. He felt more well-rested and his body didn't ache as painfully as it had earlier. Hands ran up and down his arms and a kiss was placed atop his head before he looked up, noticing Atsumu's gaze on him.

"Are you okay?" he asked quietly, not wanting to disturb the peaceful air around them.

"Am I okay? Tobio," the blond began with a long sigh, "you were asleep for two days, woke up, then passed out in my arms again." He placed a gentle kiss against Tobio's lips. "I was worried sick."

"Sorry. I didn't mean to worry you."

"No, no it's not your fault. I've just been scared. You- you were-"

Atsumu cut himself off, his eyes gleaming with what Kageyama could guess were unshed tears. Tobio debated for a moment before cupping one of the Captain's cheeks and placing a soft kiss upon the other. As he leaned back he was pulled into a stronger kiss, a hand on the back of his neck tenderly playing with the ends of his hair.

"I'm glad yer awake now. Are you really fine, do you need anything?" asked Atsumu.

"Hmm... I am a little hungry."

Atsumu grinned before helping him off the bed, saying he would go and get Osamu to make something whilst he changed. Observing the late afternoon sky, Tobio freshened up and changed into clean clothes, running a hand through his hair before putting on his boots and leaving the cabin. The sun was milder now so he walked across the deck with ease, heading down the stairs and slipping into the kitchen before being suffocated in a hug.

"Yer awake, yer really okay." Osamu muttered, squeezing the boy's life out of him before pulling back and checking for any signs of distress. "Feeling alright? Tired? Sick?"

Seeing Osamu so worried about him brought a small smile to his face, and he assured the twin that he was feeling better but his mind was still a little hazy. Sitting him down, Osamu finished the stew he was making and gave Tobio a large helping saying he must be starving. And it was true. After the first mouthful Tobio felt the gnawing emptiness in his stomach and it took all of his manners to remain composed and not shovel it down greedily.

After another serving and some more water he was feeling truly refreshed and his headache was nearly gone. Deciding to head to to the upper deck for some fresh air, he thanked Osamu who had begun clearing up and climbed back up to the deck. Just as he reached the stairs up to the wheel he was met with a relieved-looking Suna who ruffled his hair with a wide grin.

"Missed ya, ya know? Didn't have as much fun teasing Captain without ya."

"We can tease him all day tomorrow if you wish." Tobio suggested.

"Aye, sounds like a plan."

Suna grinned once more before heading over to the crow's nest for his shift. The Prince ascended to the wheel before leaning on the railing at the side of the ship, watching the blue water rush and ripple under the ship's stronghold. White foam rolled over the water here and there, appearing and disappearing until his view turned blurry from watching for so long.

Atsumu found him again later when everyone was heading to dinner, and the crew all felt at ease and complete now that they were all dining together. Tobio still couldn't believe he had been asleep for so long, and that the witches had given him a draught so powerful it weakened his body to such a state, but he knew there must be a reason behind it. He felt no different, his mind and body the same as ever, so he could only rely on the future to give him answers.

For now he focused on his meal, chatting and laughing with the crew who all seemed so happy he was back with them. He truly felt like he had found his family here, and vowed he would never scare them like that again.
