Dinner that night was eventful, the most excited the crew had been in days. The amount of information their trusted friend had provided really propelled them in their treasure hunt. The fact that they may have information no other pirate crew did made them eat with vigour.
"How long is the sail to Shiratorizawa?" Kita asked as he ladled up some stew, Osamu cutting a giant loaf of fresh bread heartily.
"Three weeks if the wind favours us." Atsumu replied, passing his dish to Tobio before accepting another for himself.
"The southern islands are quite far." Tobio mused the map from Sakusa that was spread out on the table between them all, Aran already updating their own with a careful, skilled hand.
"Aye, gives us time to figure out where the treasure may be hidden, if it is there." Kita advised.
"And to practise fighting too!" Suna added with a bright grin, feeling the exciting rush of adventure at their new goal.
As they all sat around the table to eat, Tobio found it was easy to forget about the troubles they had been through these past few weeks. Suffering at the hands of others, so may unknowns about his heritage, the words of the witches a constant in the back of his mind. Sitting here, with his new family and a delicious meal, he could truly feel like a pirate in his own right, on the treasure hunt of a lifetime with the prize of ultimate power and riches.
The food seemed to taste a little sweeter, the people around him a little warmer, and he knew whatever trials they faced next, they would face them together...
Tobio woke up to the sound of light snores next to him. A smile graced his lips as he turned around to face Atsumu: his lover was completely relaxed, the rays of early morning sunlight highlighting all of his best features. Whilst in the encompassing warmth of their bed, he traced a hand lightly along the blond's defined jaw, his thumb brushing the lower plump lip. He couldn't help himself, and so leaned closer to place a soft kiss on the pirate's lips.
As he pulled back the blond male stirred, hands wrapping securely around the Prince's waist as he blinked his eyes open wearily, the haze of sleep leaving him soft and dazed.
"Morning baby." Atsumu greeted, voice still deep and raspy from sleep.
"Rest well?" Tobio asked, continuing to trace the blond's jaw, dipping down the side of his neck and along his collarbone.
"Hmm. Much prefer waking up to this though." Atsumu replied before grinning. "Warm bed, a little cutie by my side... love you, baby."
Seeing as it was still early morning, and Tobio could hear the easing out of Atsumu's breaths, he let the older male sleep longer as he got out of bed and began to prepare for the day. It wasn't often he woke up early, but it was all thanks to the great evening last night and the excitement of their new plans.
He made sure the deck was clean before heading into the kitchen to sort out any dishes that needed cleaning. After making a light porridge for breakfast, simmering low for the others to eat when they woke up, he headed to the top deck and used Atsumu's compass to make sure they were on the right track.
As the days passed the weather became lighter and the seas warmer, the gentle breeze soothing them from the bright sunlight that didn't set until the depths of the nighttime hours were upon them. They used the supplies Sakusa gave them and cleaned the deck thoroughly so that it gleamed and shone, before releasing the anchor and diving into the sea themselves to bathe.
Tobio relished in clear water, feeling the cool underwater currents wash away his aches and grime. It made him recall his private suite at home, the large and ornate golden bathtub that he would lounge in just to escape his father for a few moments longer. But he found the sea much more enjoyable, and he couldn't help but smile as he watched some of the pirates splash and dunk each other in the salty water.
He washed quickly before diving under himself, gazing with amazement at the vibrant sea life and colourful coral of green, pink and orange. There were fish with black and white stripes, and others that looked like snakes further down. He noticed the changing hues of blue as the seabed rose and fell, a reminder of the vastness of the ocean, its deep depths unknown and undiscovered.
Atsumu joined him after escaping another dunking from his brother, saying if he wanted to be drowned he would just hand himself over to the royal guard. Getting a swear word in return he joined Tobio and they explored together, sometimes kissing underwater that left them laughing when they had to resurface.
Dinner was fresh sandwiches and some fish Kita had caught, and they continued their journey late into the evening. Thankfully the wind was in their favour, meaning they didn't have to focus too heavily on guiding Inarizaki's Revenge in the right direction, and they could have more sleep at night.
Well, 'sleep'.
In the Captain's quarters, Atsumu was busy occupying the Prince from sleep, slowly drawing his lips up and down the boy's pale neck, enjoying the faint sighs that ghosted his ears. One hand traced small patterns on the exposed waist, sometimes gripping harder in a way that had Tobio squirming underneath him.
"Y-you tease too, ah, too much." Tobio managed to say before Atsumu kissed him, the Captain holding the underside of his thigh as he pressed them closer together.
"Nay. I'm just taking my time, love. Wanna ravish you, hm, make you feel good."
Tobio slipped his hand around Atsumu's waist before flipping them over so he straddled the Captain; he kissed him intensely, parting his lips in invitation. Their breaths were heavy, mingling together in the quiet midnight air when they parted.
"Then make me feel good already, Captain."
Atsumu groaned before pulling the Prince back into a kiss, hand slipping between them to undo his belt.
"Aye, whatever you say sweetheart."
